A young lady buying a car - no problem at John Hine! Yup. After 4 years of intensive saving, it was time to trade in my 12-year old car. Although I loved my old ride, I was ready to make the leap. But Yup. After 4 years of intensive saving, it was time to trade in my 12-year old car. Although I loved my old ride, I was ready to make the leap. But as a 26 year old girl going new-car shopping for the first time in my life, I was extremely nervous from all of the horror stories I've heard about dealers trying to take advantage and confuse you. I am not the most assertive person, so I was worried I would have to channel an assertive person and hard-negotiate to even get a fair price. I read up on everything I could possibly think to read up on, and began my hunt. I tried many other dealerships and looked at many cars, but had basically known all along that the Mazda CX-5 was my favorite in the class. But, man! What a great surprise that the people at John Hine Mazda were also the favorite sales people I worked with! Right when I walked in, I was greeted warmly and treated with so much respect. I was very cautious, and nervous at first, but Peter Ross, my car salesman, was patient and took the time to show and explain every single thing to me. Peter was an absolute joy to work with, and I would recommend him to anyone. It was still stressful, of course, and I still worried the whole time if I was being taken advantage of - so many people had told me to take someone with me, or specifically, to take a guy with me - but I wanted to try to do it on my own. And I am glad I did. As would be expected, it was still exhausting and time-consuming, because this was my first purchase of this size EVER and I really needed to be confident - but at the end of the day, I didn't feel swindled or remorseful or anything but happy with my choice, and grateful to the people at John Hine. I've had my car for a month and a half now, and still feel so positive about the choice and the whole experience overall. I highly recommend both the Mazda brand in general, and John Hine Mazda specifically! More
