Tremendously overcharged for distributor array. Car needed repair urgently after tow to dealership. Charged $1100 for a $200 (tops) part. More

I called this Flint person last Wednesday about 0930 left message. Called again Friday afternoon left message. Called today Tuesday March 21 at 1130 left message. No responses. The back story on this event is that my son's Honda CRV died on him at like 11pm and roadside assistance towed him to a repair shop that apparently doesn't do repairs. Being new to the area (just moved here from NY) I checked Google Maps and saw this Honda dealership was close by so had the car towed there. They diagnosed the problem as he needed a new distributor array and the part was 1100 bucks! Not knowing anything about it I reluctantly agreed as it was cheaper than buying a used car. I was never offered any alternatives just 1100 for the part take it or leave it. I felt like I had no choice and stupidly agreed to the repair as my son needed a car. Found out later after talking to people who know more than I do that a distributor array is a 70 to 200 dollar part. 1230pm: Addendum: Just got callback and had long coversation about the cost of auto parts particularly after- market parts versus OEM parts. I still think I overpaid. Stay tuned.....

Real quick folks RC at Hendrick Honda was reasonable and we worked out an agreement where we both aren't thrilled so I guess that means it is a fair deal. I gotta give credit to RC and Hendrick for being willing to try to make me happy(er) and not just blowing me off. So just know that if you go to a dealer you will get great service and your car fixed right but you will pay a premium. Nuff said.
