Pr weekend. I felt the car buying experience to rather pleasant. We dealt with several sales people. Drove a few cars and settled on a new Accord. Pricing was fair. There was no pressure to buy, however, they had all the right answers and pricing that I needed to fit my budget. I great buying experience. I would recommend this dealership. More
Honda Service - I was speaking with Mike today regarding service on my Honda. The service needed is going to take a couple of hours. Mike suggested that I leave the car for the day and he would arrange fo service on my Honda. The service needed is going to take a couple of hours. Mike suggested that I leave the car for the day and he would arrange for me to have a rental car for me. This would work well as it would not interfere with my day and I could return at the end of the day and the would be ready. I thought this was great customer service. When I arrived the day to have my service done the rental car was ready for me to drive away with no waiting. When I return to pick up my car there was no waiting on that end too! Excellent customer service. I will always go to Herb Chambers Service Department for all my concerns which are few and far between. Thanks again Mike More
i brought my car here for service....biggest mistake ever. they charge an OBSCENE amount of money, and actually returned my car to me in very dangerous condition. within five minutes of driving my car ever. they charge an OBSCENE amount of money, and actually returned my car to me in very dangerous condition. within five minutes of driving my car home from the dealership, it broke down and i had to get it towed. obviously, they did not do whatever they said they did. i was lucky this didn't happen on a highway or it could have been much worse. the customer service is okay, but the actual service and technicians are not doing their job....i am appalled that the vallet allowed me to take my car home. i cannot emphasize enough how horrible this experience was. do not patronize this establishment!! if you do, be VERY careful...don't let them rip you off and endanger your life. My best exprience ever at a dealership. My prior dealership of a number of years let me down this year and I was referred to Herb Chambers Honda. Staff was unvelievably helpful and very transparent dealership of a number of years let me down this year and I was referred to Herb Chambers Honda. Staff was unvelievably helpful and very transparent in our dealings. I felt I was well taken care of and that my business mattered to them even after the sale. I wish I had been doing business with them all along. Can't say enough about the great expereince. Took a lot of the anxiety out of the car buying experience. I would recommend them to anyone (and already have). The price was very competitive and realistic given the current economy. I felt I made a very good deal and there was no sense of being taken advantage of by superuor information on the part of the dealer. The general sales manager, Howie Reske, was great and the salesperson, Kathy Snmith, could not have been more helpful. Five stars all around! More
I chose this dealership because of its convenient location in Boston and multiple awards listed on their site. I was looking for a 2008 Honda Fit, in Storm Silver with the standard sport package. T location in Boston and multiple awards listed on their site. I was looking for a 2008 Honda Fit, in Storm Silver with the standard sport package. They had several listed on their website as being "in stock" and they confirmed this when I called. I came in to meet with a sales person who promptly told me they did not have that car in stock and then proceeded to try and sell me several different color fits with different trim levels. Ken informed me that he couldn't get the car I wanted and that he checked dealerships all over New England. I was prepared to make some concessions on my choice of vehicle when I decided to check with other dealerships. Prime Honda had one it could bring in from New York by the next day and Honda Village HAD THE CAR I WANTED ON THEIR LOT. This information is known to all dealerships so they can swap inventory to serve their customers. Herb Chambers FLAT OUT LIED to me. I called Ken back, told him that I HAD FOUND the car IN BOSTON and suddenly Ken's manager picks up promises they'll get the car yadda yadda and it'll be ready to pick up in a day or two. Needless to say the car didn't come on time, wasn't ready on time, and I BARELY was able to pick it up before having to take an important trip to see some family members. BOTTOM LINE: AVOID HERB CHAMBERS LIKE THE PLAGUE! I walked into this dealership ready to pay STICKER PRICE for an exact make and model color and trim, all they had to do was sell the car to me and they failed at that. More
I hadn't bought a car in a long time and based on previous experiences was apprehensive about the whole process. An inexpensive subcompact car was my goal and I was particularly interested in the Hon previous experiences was apprehensive about the whole process. An inexpensive subcompact car was my goal and I was particularly interested in the Honda FIT. I was so pleasantly surprised by my entire experience at Herb Chambers Honda, Boston. I immediately felt comfortable as I began to talk with Howie, the general manager and Kathy, the sales person. They were friendly and professional. I test drove the FIT and didn't feel any pressure from Kathy. She answered questions and provided information but it was all low key. I had done pricing research and the price quoted was on target with everything I had seen online. I loved the FIT but wasn't ready to commit that day and felt no pressure to do so, in fact it was the opposite. We ended up purchasing the FIT and loving it and I think the whole Herb Chambers experience contributes to that good feeling. More
Herb Chambers dealerships are like no other dealerships around. Their staff is committed to insuring 100% Customer satisfaction. I recently went into Herb Chambers Honda of Boston to look at buying a 2008 around. Their staff is committed to insuring 100% Customer satisfaction. I recently went into Herb Chambers Honda of Boston to look at buying a 2008 Ridgeline. I had mentioned to Paul Dineen (Service Manager) that the battery in my wife's 2003 Honda Odyssey (bought new at Herb Chambers Honda of Boston in '03) was recently replaced, and that I lost the radio code. Paul said he would have one of his mechanics pull the radio out and fix it for me at no charge, even if I decided not to buy a new Ridgeline that day. That's just the type of service these folks offer. This was a minimum $120.00 job, and they did it at no charge, with no committment from me to buy a new vehicle. I went inside to personally thank Danny the Mechanic. In the end, I bought the new Ridgeline anyway. They installed a new trailer hitch at a reduced price and did a fantastic job. I don't need to shop around. Howie (Sales Manager) and Kathie (Sales) negotiated an excellent deal with me. Honda makes an excellent product, and for me, there is only one place to get it..............Herb Chambers Honda of Boston. I am totally satisfied, and if I could rate them higher than "5", I would do so. More
I decided to ignore prior reviews and give Herb Chambers a blank slate. Despite offering a fair price on a car, they consistently pushed me against the clock and never considered my interests as a buyer a blank slate. Despite offering a fair price on a car, they consistently pushed me against the clock and never considered my interests as a buyer. Everything was about finishing the sale within the day and pushing a car without searching for the best fit. I can't imagine that anyone would value their experience here, hence the prior ratings you read. Each time I visited this dealer, I had a check in hand and intended to make an offer. This is truly an awful place -- don't waste your time or money. More
I leased my first civic here and, 2-3 years later, bought my first civic here. That experience was quite positive. In the market again 11 years later, I returned. This was early in the process. I was in the my first civic here. That experience was quite positive. In the market again 11 years later, I returned. This was early in the process. I was in the market but in no rush. I was thinking about another civic or a civic hybrid. (I was also considering a mini or a prius but was motivated to buy a Honda hybrid for the tax rebate I would get for it.) I was clear with the salesman that I was just beginning to think about this, felt I had a lot of research to do, and wasn't planning on making any decisions for at least a month. He could tell me nothing of much use about either car. He, and his manager, who actually asked what they could do to make me commit that day, both spent all of their time badmouthing the hybrid. Literally all they could tell me was how I'd have to spend $4500 within 7 years to replace the battery. They did let me drive one fwd and back on the roof. I asked for some literature that described the new civics, the hybrid, some comparison, anything. I was surprised I had to ask; I was shocked when all I left with was one photocopied single-sided sheet of the prices of all of the different models. That was it. They knew I was going to mini, next door, immediately afterwards ... which led to the final moment of unprofessionalism. Could I come back after and tell them if I had eliminated the idea of buying a mini afterwards. I was really frustrated, disappointed, exasperated by the entire experience ... and am now the owner of a Prius. More
I'm not usually a person that reports when someone does a good job. Although I am DEFINITELY a person that speaks when something goes wrong. However, my experience at Herb Chambers in Boston has compelled good job. Although I am DEFINITELY a person that speaks when something goes wrong. However, my experience at Herb Chambers in Boston has compelled me to change my ways. I will admit Herb Chambers was NOT the first dealer I contacted but as soon as Jasmine answered the phone I knew there was something different. She was patient, courteous, and most of all informative. She invited me in to go over my options and promised a stress free environment. Even though I agreed to an appointment I was still weary about the way things would be when I got there. To my surprise everything was just as she said. She greeted me @ the door with her associate Jose. Jose took me on the test drive went over all of the features that Mohammed @ Bernardi neglected too. When it was time to go review the numbers I just knew this was the part when things would go wrong. Again, I was mistaken I was presented with the same pricing I had discussed with Jasmine. Needless to say I am now the proud owner of a 2009 Pilot. I have already told half of the staff at my job and really felt a need to tell everyone on the web. :-) More
