BUYERS BEWARE! purchased a fairly expensive used vehicle. We understand used vehicles are "AS IS" but when w/in days it’s deemed to have unsafe & other major issues purchased a fairly expensive used vehicle. We understand used vehicles are "AS IS" but when w/in days it’s deemed to have unsafe & other major issues, there’s a problem. We use Lemon squad to check out vehicles but made mistake of thinking reputable dealership would be fine. WRONG! Were told it will be fully serviced, all fluids & oil changed (Bernard said, “of course Ma’am we do that on all our vehicles”) Once home oil shows 43% life. REALLY? found out last serviced in August & now October.” W/in few days, engine had loud fan noise staying on hours after engine shut off. I called & spoke w/Bernard (salesman who sold us vehicle) who referred me to sales manager, Zach. He was understanding & said have husband bring it in & would let service manager know. We could understand if issues arose after a few weeks & some miles driven but not in a few days. My husband arrived & was told vehicle was “as is” & nothing they could do about it. They stated they would do assessment but would be ~$200. My husband said we spoke to Zach who said it would be taken care of & they had no knowledge of such & were unable to get in touch with him. My husband left w/nothing addressed & 3 hours R/T. We went to certified Cadillac dealer as the check engine light on. We were told the following. 1. Oil desperately needed to be changed. 2. Windshield wipers would not pass 3. Fluids all needed to be topped off. 4. Leaking (R) front shock absorber 5. Broken engine motor mount 5. Coolant fluid degraded & needed service 6. Rear brake pads not pass inspection 7. Engine coolant sensor damaged. I called Zach w/this information & directed me to service manager Joe who was understanding & was unhappy that we had basically been turned away. He asked that we return & he will deal w/vehicle and “take care of things”. I advised him we had already had everything repaired but engine mount as was on backorder. He said if we chose to go back, he would do the engine mount. Unsure if I could cancel w/ Cadillac dealership so told him that. I previously sent all documents from Cadillac dealership’s findings & costs. I asked if anything could be done about all issues & he said he thought so but referred me to general manager August. We already paid ~ $3500 & almost 2K due for motor mount issue. All w/in 1 week of purchase. I called August several times & finally got through. He said this was his daughter’s vehicle prior, so he knew it was well taken care of. He must be delusional, or his service department is bad! We had lengthy discussion about issues. I proceeded to say we questioned if vehicle had vacuuming & cleaning (as promised by Bernard) prior to us picking it up as Pokémon card & receipt fell out from under passenger seat. He laughed & joked about it & said my grandson was looking for that I hope you kept it. What an xxx! Really? that’s your stupid response to an unsatisfied customer? He told me safety check they do may not be as extensive as dealership would do?? A safety check would miss some of above listed items, and said if we returned, he would address motor mount issue (I was able to cancel the order if needed) but would not address any other issues as he stated, “many times dealerships add extra items that might not be necessary & increase the costs”. REALLY? AREN’T YOU A DEALERSHIP? SO, YOU DO SAME xxxx THING YET CHASTISING ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. Hmmm kind of put foot in mouth. I asked if returned would he fix motor mount & response was “no guarantee-needed to check if agree w/estimate & evaluation from other dealer”. So, wants us to drive 3 hours R/T w/no guarantee of anything. August said would discuss w/service manager, Joe & get back to me. That was > 2 weeks ago. Guess assuming, I will just go away! Don’t do what they say, don’t stand by agreements, poor communication & response time. I will continue posting review on every possible site repeatedly, so not lost over time. I don’t want anyone else to go through what we did. More
He was awesome from start to finish. He is very family oriented and accommodated my 6 year old son with snacks and color books. It help the deal go real smooth. Went in 9:45 with an appt at 10am. Oil change and key fob recall. My car didn’t get seen until 12:30pm. Not one person mechanic or auto person checked on me. When I went to see what was going on they realized my car was still parked. Then once they finished my car no one notified me , I only knew because I could see it being moved from shop into parking lot. I had to go ask for my keys and they didn’t even realize my car was done. I kept my cool because I was with my daughter but will not be back. More
