I had a great experience working with Rich Anderson and Jim Meadows at the Honda dealership in Ames Iowa! The entire staff were very friendly and helpful. He also helped me weigh my options between purchasing or leasing and gave me a lot of information to help me understand which may be a better choice for me. Jim was also helpful in explaining things to me and assisting me in making my decision to lease a new Honda which has been great so far. They have also already followed up with me to see how I like the new vehicle and I haven't been driving it for even a week yet. It was a great and pleasant experience. Initially, I was looking for a decent used car, but I ended by leasing a brand new Honda Civic. As I am not driving long distance, I am happy that Pete convinced me a looking for a decent used car, but I ended by leasing a brand new Honda Civic. I already knew what vehicle I wanted to buy (Honda CR-V), and knew what options I wanted on it. I checked the Honda of Ames website, and they had the vehicle I was interested in, so I put in a web request and knew what options I wanted on it. I checked the Honda of Ames website, and they had the vehicle I was interested in, so I put in a web request to be called. Received a call from them the next day, and was referred to Doug Krogman by the internet lady (whose name escapes me). Its a 60 mile drive to the dealership, so I told Doug that if I was going to come down, I needed a firm price right up front (I did not have a trade). Long story short, Doug gave me a firm (and very good!) price, and I made the drive down, test drove the car, and he sold it to me that very day. Buying a car is always a little stressful (its a lot of money, and you're stuck with whatever decision you make for quite a while), but Honda of Ames made the process as painless as possible (and much better than my experience has been with some other dealerships). Paperwork was tedious but necessary, they explained what other stuff (fabric protection/paint protection/etc.) that they had, but did not hard-sell any of it..which was a relief. The car is great, the dealership experience was super. Doug was absolutely outstanding to deal with, he listened to what I needed, and took care of my needs. Next time I buy a new car, I will definitely shop Honda of Ames. More
