When purchasing a new vehicle, when is the appropriate time for the dealer to inform the purchaser that the car contains dealer add-ons? When negotiations begin? Shortly thereafter? When you walk in? Most people would probably agree that whenever the dealer does reveal the existence and price of any dealer add-ons, it should optimally occur sometime before the contract is printed out for signature. I reached an agreement on price with this dealer via email and arrived to sign and pick up the car. Just as the contract was about to be printed for signature, I noticed the price was almost $1000 greater than the agreed upon price. Yup. They waited until I noticed the wrong price on the contract before they finally acknowledged that the car came with add-ons. Caveat emptor. More
