My 2016 Honda Pilot showed maintenance code A12. I took it to The Honda of Manhasset Service center on Sept.23 maintenance. The front desk guy was courteous, gave me a long list Honda recommended fl I took it to The Honda of Manhasset Service center on Sept.23 maintenance. The front desk guy was courteous, gave me a long list Honda recommended fluid change. I changed all those fluid in 2021. I had the receipt on me and showed it to him and I said I do not want to do any of those as I drove only 2000 miles since I changed all those fluids. Then he comes around and says that My break caliper needs to be changed and they have to order it, I have to go another day to get it fixed. So they just did the regular oil change and reset the code. I paid for oil change and for the break caliper. although he told me that it would take 1 hour to fix the break caliper, he wrote in the receipt that I have to pay for 2 hors of labor which I did not notice. He mentioned that the cabin filter will be changed along with the break caliper. I go back next Saturday. Then the same guy comes back and tells me that my break pads needs to be replaced too. I went to the manager and asked for my money back and wanted to go to another dealer. He told me that he will work some thing out for me so that I don't go to another dealer. He said since break caliper and the break pads are at the same area there will be over lapping of work, so they will not charge me separately for labor. I will have to pay $200. As I paid for the caliper already. To change cabin filter they guy said some other amount in the 200s. I said I am not going to get it done. Because I saw another dealer had a coupon for very low price. The car was done in 45 minutes. I saw it was out in the parking lot. Then the guy took another 45 minutes to do the paper work. He charged me $200 for the break pad and additional 1.6 hours of labor for the entire job. When I asked why he charged me twice for the labor, he replied I agreed to pay 2 hours of labor last week and he charged me 1.6 hours. In all, they lied to me about charging one labor for two break jobs, and they over charge me for labor. The job was done in less than an hour, but they charged me for 1.6 hours. If it takes two diagnostics to tell me what needs to be done, one can guess the competence of their technician. My break still makes a noise. More

IMO a typical car dealer - went in for Recall service and they recommended $1,000+ of service. One of the recommended service items is new spark plugs.
