He was responsive, answered all questions, and was very thorough in reviewing all the highlights of my new (pre-owned) vehicle when I arrived to take delivery. All discussions were done via email and text, and when I arrived at the dealership all paperwork was ready to go, as per our agreements. Derik also set up my bluetooth connections in the car, registered a three-month trial of satellite radio, and filled up the tank for my long drive home. He did everything right. The only hiccup came from management above Derik. Derik and I had agreed upon a price for the vehicle, but when I then indicated that I intended to bring in a trade-in, Derik's manager played a little mathematical gymnastics and altered the terms of the deal, basically increasing the price of the vehicle by about $300 (hoping I wouldn't notice that, no doubt), but explicitly reminding me that I was saving over $600 in sales tax because of the trade-in. The actual net result was that I split that tax savings with Beck Toyota. I saw that right away, but didn't push it because I knew if I did, they would just devalue my trade-in by another $300 (I was reminded more than once that my trade-in value --which I had to negotiate up from their original low offer -- was of course dependent upon inspection when I arrived, so the writing was on the wall there.). I'm pretty sure Derik's boss thinks he pulled a $300 fast one on me; the reality is I saw what was going on every step of the way and chose not to fight a losing battle. So, if you want a great sales experience, Derik is definitely your guy; but when it comes to the financial end of a used car purchase at Beck Toyota, just keep a close eye on the numbers that come from his managers. I took it to Beck for service every 5,000 miles for nine years. They never tried to sell me something that I didn't need. The cost was usually less expensive than I had anticipated. Their service department is run really well. They keep you informed and they will come out to talk to you if they find anything that needs to be addressed. As a result of nine problem free years with my car I didn't even consider looking elsewhere when I wanted to purchase a new car. Izzy was my salesperson and she was knowledgeable about the cars. No high pressure tactics that are so common at other dealerships. I bought a 2018 Camry XLE and I couldn't be happier. On the day that I picked it up. I was given a lengthy orientation to my new car where everything was explained to me. The management and staff are customer focused and they will do what it takes to keep their customers happy. I know that my future car will be a Toyota and I know that I will only consider buying it at Beck Toyota. More
