Make sure you are aware of any additional fees you are not obligated to pay. I purchased a vehicle with Huntley Ford, and now the next day it won't start. Vehicle is on the charger now and waiting to see if it's just a battery or more in depth issue. Frustrating on a new vehicle that was $50k and claimed to have been fully assessed by their mechanic staff prior to sale. One would think the most basic safety inspection would include inspecting the brakes, tires, load test the battery to see if it is bad and ensure the rest of the features on the vehicle work; and not leave someone stranded the day after purchasing the vehicle. Additionally, the sales manager was great and I was able to negotiate a deal with him, however, after negotiating that deal and agreeing on price, the rest of the process took forever. The salesman basically deserted me and did nothing to attempt to expedite the process, when he even told me they had only sold three cars prior to my purchase that day and were not that busy. The finance person was fantastic to work with as well and was happy and satisfied with him, however very unsatisfied in how most of the rest of the process went; and most definitely will not be recommending Huntley to anyone I know and I will not be a returning customer. I looked at a vehicle with the salesman and after finding out that it had other significantly in depth mechanical issues I passed on purchasing that one and the salesman seemed irritated with me on having to see a few vehicles before settling on the one that I purchased. Buyer beware, the dealer claims to get most of their vehicles in from auction and charges you as a buyer an almost $3,000 trucking and delivery fee for getting vehicles in and adds that on top of their other standard dealer fees, so be cognizant of that. In addition to that, the dealer claims to have had their service techs inspect the vehicles prior to sale, but the two other vehicles I looked at had almost bald tires as well as the brake rotors were grooved, indicative of needing brakes replaced. Additionally the dealer only works with one bank and I was informed they would not work with outsider financing, and the bank the dealer is associated with has a significantly higher interest rate on the auto loan, to the point of it being double that of what my personal bank would provide the loan for. Overall, I was extremely dissatisfied with the process and definitely will not be recommending this dealer to anyone I know, it was the worst auto purchasing process I have been a part of yet, and I have been a part of quite a few vehicle purchases. The service department was pleasant when I made my appointment. However, when I brought the car in they informed me that if the issue was something other than what was covered on the recall, they woul appointment. However, when I brought the car in they informed me that if the issue was something other than what was covered on the recall, they would charge me for the inspection. I wish they would have informed me of that over the phone when I made my appointment. I felt blindsided and like they should’ve disclosed that earlier. When the service manager called me with the update on the inspection, I felt like he was talking down to me and in a hurry to get me off the phone. A little honesty goes a long way. More
