This is our second Hyundai. For whatever reason my wife likes this brand but it has been nothing but trouble for me. Our 2012 Santa Fe engine would shut off for no reason. I took it to their service department and couldn't resolve it. Finally a couple of years later a software upgrade solved that problem and other than the AC issue and battery associated alarm issue, it has been a good car. When I tried to change the factory installed battery the alarm went off and I had to take it to this dealership to resolve, and they did. Why my wife wanted a new Hyundai, was unknown to me but we bought a Venue for her. It came with a few free oil change. The problem is you can not make any reasonable appointment and when you call the service, THEY NEVER ANSWER. Don't bother to leave a message. I have left at least 5 with no return calls. I told my wife, this is the last Hyundai you are getting. I am taking it to the San Jose shop for service. I am hoping they are better.. More
Not sure why the folks at this dealership don't answer the phone or return calls. I've had a few questions I wanted answered about buying an extended warranty and after a month of trying to get a hold of the phone or return calls. I've had a few questions I wanted answered about buying an extended warranty and after a month of trying to get a hold of someone, I gave up. I have been dissatisfied with the customers service for a bit and am over it. Additionally, I am not happy about how my car is handled when in their care for basic maintenance. I've had too many issues that I shouldn't have had to deal with. At this point all I can say is I don't recommend this company. I walked away feeling like they didn't want my business and don't care that I'm unsatisfied. More

Service Above and beyond expectations. My faith in the honesty and expertise of automotive service took a huge leap forward today with my experience at South County Hyundai. My wife and I My faith in the honesty and expertise of automotive service took a huge leap forward today with my experience at South County Hyundai. My wife and I purchased our 2013 Tucson at the dealership after a three year lease and have been happy with the car and the service on it. In a parking lot this week, a pick-up truck scraped the side of my vehicle while trying to make it into an adjacent space. I was in my car at the time. Initially I was pretty upset, not because of the size of the ding, but what I thought would be the hassle of having a body shop have to fix it, keeping me without this car for at least a few days. My wife suggested [and very wisely so] to go to South County Hyundai to get their recommendation on where to get it fixed. I encountered Michael Widergren at the service desk, who listened to my story and then went out with me to look at the "ding". He had obviously looked at such scrapes lots of times before, and assured me that what was my biggest concern about the scrape was not a big deal. He took care of the problem in less than a half hour and I was on my way, simply amazed and impressed with the resolution of my problem. No visit needed to a body shop! Michael, thanks for your enthusiasm and help. I'll be back! More
