Hello, Beckie. We appreciate your review. I spoke with our service manager about your concerns. He said we only charge the diagnostic fee if the root cause of the issue is found to be outside influence. The vast majority of the time on a vehicle with miles as low as yours, there is no charge. The reason we do this is because in the off chance that the issue was caused by say a rodent chewing on wiring, the diagnosis and repair would not be covered by the manufacturer warranty. While somewhat rare, these circumstances still do happen, and because of that we must ask the customer up front to approve diagnostic fees vs telling them they owe the diagnostic fee after the fact.
