I brought my Q56 in for service and was told I needed new brakes (pads and rotors). I paid over $1000 for this work to be done. Set aside whether a car with about 40k miles really needed rotors, I decided brakes (pads and rotors). I paid over $1000 for this work to be done. Set aside whether a car with about 40k miles really needed rotors, I decided better to be safe than sorry and expected a quality brake job. A week later my wife was driving on Interstate 95 in cental Connecticut and lost her brakes! She managed to avoid disaster by the grace of god, but she was seriously tramatized by the episode and can no longer drive the vehicle. I had to drive 3 hours to pick her up, 3 hours to get back home and we both had to do that trip all over again the next weekend to pick the car up from the infiniti dealer that we had the car towed to the day of the incident. The CT infiniti dealer told us that the bolt that holds the rotor on was either never installed or never tightened and had come loose. A clear case of gross negligence on the part of the service department at infiniti of massapequa. The other dealer also said that in 10 years he had never had to change the rotors on a Q56 with only 42k miles on it, but this story gets even better. When I called Frank Navarro, the service manager at infiniti of massapequa, and told him what had happened to my wife he told me he was very sorry and didn't understand how that could happen, but he would do the right thing for us and that possibly he would get us a service contract. I told him I wasn't that enamored about the service contract (do you blame me given the shoddy brake job, and instead I thought they should at least refund us the amount of the brake job. He said he would get back to me the next day. Well 4 weeks went by and Frank never called me back. Finally, curious as to why he did not think calling a customer who has received such shoddy work didn't at least deserve a call back, I called him again and left him a message. I waited until 4:20 the next day, and called him yet again! Finally, Frank Navarro called me back, but this time he had a very different tune. No longer was he sorry for the brake job. This time he said they may have not tightened the bolt, but it was just as plausible that the bolt was defective and therefore not their fault at all. It was clear that Frank was now concerned that their grossly negligent work may result in a lawsuit and he did not want to "accept any liability" (his words). When I asked him if that was a common problem for this model infiniti or infinitis generally, he told me he has seen it happen. He did offer a $200 service credit, which I found completely inadequate given the mental anguish my wife had suffered and the inconvenience that we both suffered as a result of their horrendous brake job. Went to this service dept. 3 times for the same thing to be fixed. they were unprofessional, rude and very poorly trained techs. Random stuff was stolen out of my car like CD's, DVD,s, my ipod, change, a c be fixed. they were unprofessional, rude and very poorly trained techs. Random stuff was stolen out of my car like CD's, DVD,s, my ipod, change, a company Credit card i keep in the glove and the cars compartments were trashed. Also my freshly painted car was given back to me scratched up like someone keyed it. They told me they test drove the car before and after they fixed my exhaust noise, but the car had the same exact mileage it did when i dropped it off with and nothing was fixed. Had a conference with Frank the service manager who says no one ever had anything stolen from their cars and then a customer walked in yelling about his GPS being stolen. all he did was defend his service dept and did nothing for me. Wost stealership ever! More
I brought my car for a simple oil change, a week later my motor blew do to lack of oil. They told me that my car must of been burning oil which it was a huge lie. Then when that was proven to be false they t motor blew do to lack of oil. They told me that my car must of been burning oil which it was a huge lie. Then when that was proven to be false they told me that i mistreated my car and that the motor was full of sludge. When i brought me mechanic there he once again proofed them wrong. Then Frank the service manager tells me that his techs never do things like not adding the right amount of oil the car required, which i know better than that. their mechanics rush jobs and dont care about the quality of service. I ended up buying a whole new motor else where, because they would not warranty anything without me showing receipts for past oil changes which i could not supply because i did them myself. More
I can only say, having owned many other luxury vehicles, that this is quite a "Mickey Mouse" operation. The service staff is somewhat unprofessional. The sales experience was good, but the service leaves that this is quite a "Mickey Mouse" operation. The service staff is somewhat unprofessional. The sales experience was good, but the service leaves something to be desired. Good car; so-so service. More
