Hey Mr. Grover, while I understand your frustration with the situation, there is simply no ability for us to have preemptively known this pulley would fail due to the design of the component itself. Our multipoint inspection is designed to be a general wellness check of the vehicle. Just as there is no one single test for a doctor to run to determine the entirety of a patient's ailments, our multi-point inspection can only detect things that are visibly wrong at the time. If the serpentine belt or pulley were making noise, we'd see it at that time and recommend it. The likelihood of any pulley failing from an oil change and a Data Control Module replacement is zero because we aren't removing or replacing any components that have anything to do with the drive belt system. I did say that we're here to help with costs, but I wanted the opinion of the Subaru dealership performing the repairs. You said you weren't able to get that until April and that you intended to give us a bad review. Again, I'm sorry you're having to deal with an unplanned vehicle repair and the frustrations that come with it. We're certainly here to help how we can.
