Just recently purchased a pre-owned vehicle from Prime. I have no complaints with the vehicle but experienced the worst post sale service. Vehicle was finalized and paid for on 6/01/13 which was a Saturday, have no complaints with the vehicle but experienced the worst post sale service. Vehicle was finalized and paid for on 6/01/13 which was a Saturday, was told by the Finance guy the car would be registered for me the following Monday or Tuesday. I didnot take delivery on the vehicle until 6/11/13. For some reason they had no clue how to register the car in Rhode Island. They put an additional 500 miles on my car by taking 4 different trips to the registry and VIN check station Each time I was told my car would be ready that day only to get a text message late in the day letting me know they failed again. Here is where they went wrong: 1st trip: Got the vin check but left too late in the day and missed the registry 2nd trip: Made it to the DMV to be told they needed forms signed by me 3rd Trip: Wnet to DMV with forms signed by me to realize they needed to be notarized 4th trip: finally registered the car but didnot inspect it because they left too late in the day They failed to realize that all they needed to do was have a limited power of attorney signed by me at time of sale and they could have registered the car in one shot. It baffles me that the finance guy, sales manager and salesman had no clue this is how an out of state transaction is done. For the inconvenience of them holding my car for 11 days while I paid insurance and interest and them putting an additional 500 miles on the car they gave me a coupon for a "free oil change" and "detail" that has to be used within 30days and they backdated the start date to 6/01...WoW way to go Prime you really know how to make things right. The most frustrating part was that I had to initiate the calls to get a status on what was going on. I was continually lied to as to what was happening. Very poor experience, go eslewhere and avoid this amateur shop. More
What a great experience I had with the people at Columbia especially Walter Dale and Steve Smith. I came in with expectations and they worked with me to make not only the sale but a pleasant sales experience especially Walter Dale and Steve Smith. I came in with expectations and they worked with me to make not only the sale but a pleasant sales experience. Both Walter and Steve are extremely knowledgeable and professional. I applaud Walter for his years in the business and his desire to treat the customer with respect. I also want to thank Steve who worked with me in putting a deal together even after he left for the day. These folks get an A+ from me. Thank you and I look forward to many years of car buying from Columbia. More
Even though we didn't end up buying from these guys, I wanted to write a review. We arrived at the dealership and were greeted by Russ, who accomodated our requests to drive about 5 different cars on the wanted to write a review. We were able to get so much information regarding what we liked and didn't like. Russ is very nice, not at all pushy, and went along with whatever we wanted without question. If we said we didn't like it, he said okay. If we said we liked something else, he went and got the keys. After a fruitless search (our needs were pretty specific-- AWD, leather, sunroof) Russ took our info and called us every day to check in. It wasn't a pressure pitch, it came off as very good customer service since we were actively searching every day. It felt like we had someone helping us out, which was nice. Although we ended up finding our vehicle somewhere else, Russ certainly earned my customer loyalty through his hard work and dedication to finding us a car. I would send my family and friends to Columbia for a new or used car. More
After searching around for a new Buick Enclave I was able to find the right color and interioir with basically teh options I wanted at Columbia, unfortunately I arrived after the dealership closed. Brian,Steve and Mike were more than willing to stay late and try to get me into my vehicle. Well we didn't come to an agreement that night and teh vehicle later sold. Steve and Brian were able to source another vehicle with almost all the exact options I wanted and worked to get me to the price I needed to be at. I now own the vehicle and everything from signing to pick up went great. More
This is by far the best experience I've ever had in buying a car! This is the 8th car I've bought in my lifetime (I'm 46). I didn't feel the usual game-playing tactics that most salesmen use. Purchased a vehicle from the dealership and even though the dealership has cashed and is in possession of the cash related to the purchase, they still not release the new vehicle to me.
