I contacted Jeffrey Honda about purchasing a 2023 Honda Pilot EX-L and was prepared to buy quickly if we could reach a mutually acceptable price. My salesperson was slow to respond throughout the conversation and showed very little interest in actually working a deal. I made a reasonable inquiry about price flexibility and clearly communicated where I needed to be to move forward. Instead of receiving a straightforward answer or any effort to explore options, I was repeatedly told what other vehicles had sold for and what the asking price was. I fully understand that a dealership may not be able to meet every customer's target price. That's not the issue. The issue is that there was no attempt to earn my business. No counteroffer, no discussion of available flexibility, no effort to involve a manager, and no clear answer to a simple question: "Is the price negotiable?" As a customer ready to purchase, I expected a professional sales process. Instead, I felt like I was doing all the work to keep the conversation moving. If management reviews customer feedback, I would encourage them to look at how internet leads are being handled. A customer willing to buy should never feel like they're inconveniencing the salesperson. More
