Frustrating. Not valued as a customer (since 2001). Arrived at the service department and stood in the middle of the floor waiting to be acknowledged. One writer was on the phone. Another was casually flipping pages in a magazine. The other was leaning back in his chair, arms crossed, chatting with a mechanic. Obviously not business by the chuckling and body language. After a few minutes they broke up and he asked me, “Whacha need?” Told him the problem and he responded, “We’re real backed up. Might take us a couple of days”. Told him a couple of days was no problem. A week and a half later, having heard nothing, I called the writer to be told the part was on back order but he would mark it as “customer down “ and that would speed it up. I had two questions: 1. Why didn’t he call me when it was obvious it would take more than a “couple of days”. 2. Why didn’t he use the magic designation after , say, a week? Answer: Real busy. By the way, the lady at the payment window (Nicki, I think) is always fabulous. Might consider having her train the writers in customer appreciation. When Mike Lassard was there things were great. After he was deservedly promoted to parts mgr, not so much. Please tell Nicki, after 18 years as a customer, I will miss her. More

It wasn’t until I was leaving out the door that they told me I’m going to owe a minimum of 130 for diagnostic fees. I said that’s fine but let me know the diagnosis before doing anything else with radio. It took me calling 3 times during the day to get an answer just on diagnostic. At 3:45 pm I finally got an answer saying it would be $800 to replace the amplifier. I said do not replace it I’ll be there to pick it up. They then told me I also need new Back breaks. I show up 45 minutes later and I am told to wait in sitting area because they are putting everything back together. At this point I am irritated because if I said do not replace it, why was anything “taken apart” on my car. I pay the diagnostic fee and go to my car to turn it on and radio is working great. I go back in to ask why all of a sudden this is working and I’m informed that it was “reset”. So my question at this point is why was this not tried originally before telling me I will need to pay upwards of $800, which they knew wouldn’t happen, so they decided to take my rear tires off to inspect breaks? I never asked for anything else to be done. I felt that I was just a customer they were trying to get money from. And the end it all, my front right tire was never even looked at. I purchased this car from another dealership that I felt was doing the same thing and hoped by going to Stivers I would get honest help, and I don’t believe I did and am hesitant to return. When searching on the internet for issues with radio not working there are pages of forums for Chevy saying to always try resetting, so surely this qualified macanics would know to try this as well before saying the amplifier needs replacing for $800. Very disappointing More
