The perfect bait and switch! ! A Shorkey salesman, Steven, gave me three quotes for different KIA Sportages. I told him three times I was paying cash. He said there's ! They got a car I wanted and called me. I went to dealership to only find out that it wasn't $995 above MSRP, but now, only a few days later, it was $1,495. So they switched MSRP adder prices by $500 and claimed a communications error. No kidding......they thought I was financing or else that I wouldn't catch this slight because I'm old. I walked out dismayed at the ripoff. The next day a manager, Chris, called to say they'll honor the MSRP $995 adder and all he needed was a $500 deposit to hold the car I wanted. The manager then got the original salesman to call me back. The salesman, in a sarcastic tone, tells me "too bad", the car supposedly mine, actually sold the previous day, but he'll' take my $500 credit card as money down for a new order on another car which will take 3 to 4 months to arrive. I then called Chris the manager back . He professed ignorance that the car held for me was already gone. So I professed to tell my story about this fiasco. Wow! No way to treat a senior citizen!! Well, now I found out that Cochran KIA doesn't need $500 down money to order a car, plus there is no $995/$1,495 adder/ adjustment charge above MSRP. Easy to guess where I'm shopping now! More
