Go to one that values customer service and takes responsibility for their mistakes (or at last one that returns phone calls). We purchased a Hyundai, from a different location, a few years ago. Our car is involved in a program that requires us to "check in" our mileage every so often for a gas reimbursement, due to a mistake in the MPG testing. Last November my husband stopped at this location to do so. A few months later, after we hadn't heard anything, he called to check in and was told they had no record of our visit. Not wanting to go back, we asked if they could just do it over the phone, since we had already come in once. They could not, we understood. Since we were about due for an oil change, we waited a couple weeks and he took the car back mid Feb. We again heard nothing. I called after almost 3 months to check in and was sent to the service department. I spoke with a nice employee who told me he was sorry, but I would have to come back...a third time. I asked to have them manually check it in from the mileage they would have logged due to the oil change - he said he'd check with his manager, who was at lunch, and call me back. That did not happen. I called back at the end of the day, was told the employee was there, and then was transferred to voicemail. I left a message, explaining the situation, and asked for a call back. Two days later, after hearing nothing, I called AGAIN, and asked for a manager straight away. I was told he was now out of town. Frustrated with the amount of wasted time, the excuses (I had been told that it was the fault of the "technicians" who they assume would do their jobs, as well as the fact "we can't know for sure it wasn't entered - uhh, 6 months and no record does actually give a good ability to know for sure), I contacted a different location, got a district number, and went over their heads. We will never use this location again. I still have never received a call. More

Dont believe anything they say. Don't believe anything they say. We bought a car that had been wrecked before they purchased it. it was mechanically sound. We took it for a test drive and everything drove ok. We did notice that the gas gauge was below empty. They told us that the small dent on the top would be fixed, The fender, fog light and bumper that had some damage would be replaced. All the scratches and paint dings would be fixed. We purchased the interior and exterior protection. We also made them agree to putting the Toyota remote start on it that used the Factory Key Fob. We agreed to pay for the parts and they would pay for the labor for the instillation. When we went thru the financing portion there was a paper I questioned that listed the remote Start. I thought the Price was a little high but the finance manager told me that that was the portion that the dealer was paying and had it was the sheet he was turning into the dealership. That was the first lie. it turns out that the amount is listed on our loan sheet and there wasn't an entry for our portion. the amount is more than what we could have had the correct Remote Stare installed at Toyota. The one they installed was just a cheap run of the mill single minded Remote Start that only starts the car and runs on a separate Fob. the one I told them I wanted runs on the same Fob, starts the car, operates the heating and ac and unlocks the doors. I asked our salesman and he was not the least bit interested in helping us. We purchased the Car on Sat. We were told that all the options and repairs would be finished and we could pick it up on Thursday. We received an e-mail letting us know that everything was done and we could pick the car up on Wed. We were a little surprised that it was done a day early but since my wife was going to be up there that day any way she went by to pick it up. It was not ready. They told us it would be ready on Friday. We waited and went up on Sat. to get it. We really wanted to pick it up in the morning but they wouldn't let pick it up until after our salesman came in after 1:00. When we got there they said it was ready. We went out and looked at it and none of the paint had been touched up. None of the scratches had been fixed. Not even the ones they could have just buffed out. One of the rear fenders had a large scratch in it. It was not even touched. They came back after awhile and tried to tell us that the repair company was never told to make those repairs. And to top that off we were informed we would have to bring it back 2 more times to get the options installed. They agreed to fix the scratches and paint and get the options installed and we could pick it up later in the week. The Gas gauge was still below empty. That might be nitpicking but the first thing we shouldn't have to do when buying a car is wondering where the nearest gas station is and would we be able to make it there. On Thursday we received another e-mail telling us it was ready but when my wife went to get it it was not ready.We were able to pick it up the following Sat. 2 weeks after we bought it. When we looked at it you could tell all they did to repair the paint was just glob paint where the paint was missing. The globs are still raised above all the other paint. The big scratch on the rear fender saw just buffed over. It still stands out just as bad as it did before. It needed to be repainted and feathered out into the rest of the paint as did the other paint repairs. This car was a pearl coat finish so anything that is just black stands out real bad. Even the scratches they did try and buff out most of the scratches came out but you can see al the swirl marks. They said the took to a repair shop up north to have the rest of the repairs done but it looked more like they had an employee in house that said he could fix it and did a very lousy job of it. All my complaints fell on deaf ears. It was obvious that I was not going to get any further with them. my only recourse now is to bad mouth them any time I get the chance. we should have stayed with Olathe Toyota. We always had great experience from start to finish with them. They just didn't have what we were looking for. We even referred 3 friends to them who in turn all bought cars. No chance of that happening with Shawnee Mission Hyundai ever. More
