Great dealership to work with! I have been looking for a good little used compact car to save myself some gas money. Originally I really wanted a Chevy Cruze but the more I research I have been looking for a good little used compact car to save myself some gas money. Originally I really wanted a Chevy Cruze but the more I researched, the worst they looked in my mind. So I decided to try out Hyundai. By the time I got to Shawnee Mission Hyundai, I had visited 5 different dealerships, and test drove 4 different cars (3 makes- Chevy Cruze, Ford Focus and the Elantra) The Elantra by far, drove much better to me. I had been looking at another Elantra at a different dealership, and wanted to continue shopping because it just didnt feel right. Salomen called me and I made an appt to come in. I have to say- he was fantastic. Nobody likes the car buying process, but he really did make it simple, and care free really... Every other dealership I had been to I felt pushed. I felt like I had to make a rash decision or I couldnt get the best deal. Salomen was very patient with me. I also spoke to Joe the manager a couple of times and although he didnt give me what I originally wanted, he came VERY close! So I give this dealership a 9.75/10! (if they woulda gotten down to where I wanted it would be 10! :) ) There were a couple of things that I wanted to be done/fixed to the car and Salomen did not even hesitate when he confirmed they would be fixed for me. All in all I am very pleased with my 2013 Elantra. I have already told multiple people how pleasant my experience was with Shawnee Mission Hyundai. Customer service is huge in my book, and this place was awesome when it came to it! Thank you Shawnee Mission Hyundai for getting me in a great car! More
Dave Burris...I now own a great car and found a new friend! I felt rather intimidated at the thought of buying a car alone. Dave was very understanding, trustworthy and sensitive to my budget needs. He was not manipulative and he did not pressure me into making a decision before I was ready. He was very perceptive and genuinely cared about me as a person first. He seemed to really enjoy riding along as I test drove different cars and shared helpful information about each of them. He was truly happy for me when the sale was finalized and he stayed until after midnight while Connor completed the financing process with me. Dave has followed up with me to make sure I am satisfied. I will definitely recommend Dave, Patrick, Joe and the rest of the Shawnee Mission Hyundai team to anyone I know that is shopping for a car. He even stayed past closing hours to make sure we completed our deal and ensured I knew about all the options available with the Veloster. • Quality of Work: I have not yet used the Service Center, so I can’t honestly rate this. Dave did walked me through their garage and introduced me to the Service Manager. He also mentioned their customer satisfaction rating for their facility. One reason I purchased a Hyundai was their Warranty program, which speaks well for the confidence in their product. • Friendliness: Dave was very pleasurable, friendly and easy to work with. He does well to make you feel comfortable in the showroom, which isn’t the easiest thing to do while shopping for a car. • Pricing: Do your research prior to walking into a showroom and know the exact car you want (even down to the VIN#). Know the fair purchase price for that model/package. Have a loan calculator handy during negotiations and have an idea what you believe you should pay PRIOR to negotiations. As for pricing the Veloster, Dave was great and walked me through additional incentives I qualified for. According to my research, Dave offered me a fair deal. As for financing, it was laughable what the initial offer was. After that first offer, Dave did what I want ALL salespeople to do with me. He was simply and to the point. “What do you want? I’ll tell the financing team and see what we can make happen.” I told him my expected loan rate, and moments later Dave came back with what I wanted. • Overall Experience: I would easily do business again with Dave and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU ASK FOR HIM BY NAME when you walk into their showroom! There was not a car on the lot in the color that I liked, so they found what I was looking for at another dealership and brought it for me the next day! The wait for the actual transaction could be shorter, but Dion used that time to go over the features of the car, which was nice. Thank you! I spent several hours at the dealership and left with a new car and a new friend. Rebecca walked me through the sales process, test drove several vehicles and helped me negotiate a great deal with a few added features all while staying within my budget. She then went above and beyond by helping me return my rental car and even bought me a thank you card and a guardian angel for my new car (I had previously totaled my car which was why I was in the market in the first place). She has helped me through several services on my new car since and we maintain a great relationship where I know I can call her with any questions or concerns I have with my new vehicle. I would highly recommend her and will be contacting her for any future auto purchases in my future. More

I wanted to upgrade the tires on my Sonata and again after searching numerous dealers, much closer than Shawnee Mission, the service department came through with flying colors. Felix was prompt with returning phone calls, suggesting the right tire for my needs and making sure the 180 mile drive was going to be worth the trip. Just a fantastic experience and a fantastic employee. I'll drive the 180 miles anytime if I continue to get this type of service. More

Eddie Huffaker offered to assist and provided information that was not on display. When the issue on our old car looked significant, Eddie suggested that we speak with the General Manager who went "beyond the call of duty" to make us happy, including the loan of a new vehicle in which my wife was interested. We were so impressed with the cars, the people and the agency that we replaced both of our older cars with two new ones. Our Hyundais have been great and so are the dealership and its employees. More
Never go here! I want to this dealership because it was close to my home. Big mistake.... I was able to walk around the lot for 15 minutes without assistance. Then proceeded to go into the dealership to find a sales person for help. They were to busy huddled in their little groups talking or sitting at their desks to assist me. After about 10 more minutes of standing and walking around I finally approached a group of associates and asked for assistance. One of them (Henry Frazier) offered to help. I told him what I was looking for. He was very friendly and helpful. He showed me a few cars told me to take a test drive and take my time he had an appointment. I took the test drive fell in love with the car, picked one out and decided this was the car for me. Unfortunately Henry never appeared again..... I spent 15-20 minutes with Henry, and at one point (about and hour and a half later another gentleman I believe was the General Manager came over to talk to me. I explained that I didn't have a trade in just wanted to purchase the vehicle (a new car) and wanted to write a check. He seemed very helpful and told me that was no problem it would only take a about 10 minutes to give me quotes with rebates. He left, I assumed to go and do that but I never saw him again until I was walking out the door. (another 30 min. later) He was outside visiting with another employee smoking!!! I took time off work to go purchase a car and had the money in hand. What should have been a easy sale turned out to be a big waste of my time. (over 3 hours) There were plenty of people walking around who could have helped me, in fact one person even came over to me and said they were sorry I had to wait so long...... I felt like Julia Roberts in the movie "Pretty Woman" when she went shopping and no one would help her! Well the next day I took a half day off from work again, went to another Hyundai dealer they were awesome! They did everything that this dealer should have done and they had an easy sale! If you want to go and sit in a lounge area all day and read magazines and drink coffee go to Shawnee Mission Hyundai but it you want to buy a car go somewhere else! More
