After visiting several dealers we chose Shawnee Mission Hyundia for two main reasons. First reason was our salesperson Matthew Pauley and the second was the overall dealership experience. There was no high pressure sales, what there was, was a collection of people whose main focus was making sure we were being taken care of. To my surprise they were turing over every rock trying to find all of the different incentives (rebates)they could offer us and they totaled up to an impressive figure. Their trade-in offer was more than we expected. Bottom line: If you want a new vehicle, want to be treated like royalty and get the best deal you will ever see, then you HAVE TO GO to Shawnee Mission Hyundia. By the way, my new Sonata Hybrid is GREAT. More
This is what car-buying should be like every time! After experiencing a lot of game-playing, misinformation, and delays at McCarthy, we took our business to Shawnee Mission Hyundai. We could tell instantly that our experience was going to be a big improvement - the vibe inside the sales floor was a lot more relaxed, friendly, and sincere than other dealers we had visited on our car-buying journey. Dion was friendly and straightforward - we expressed our interest in a specific Elantra we saw on the dealer's Website, and he found that exact car for us to test drive instead of trying to upsell us on a more expensive model. We told him what price we had negotiated to for a similar car at McCarthy, and we settled on a price that satisfied us without hours of haggling or trickery. When we came back the next evening to make the deal official and take the car home, we saw our car inside the showroom. Dion took the car off of the lot and out of the 106-degree heat so our first experience with the car as its owner would not be scorching heat inside. That was a nice touch. He stayed with us after closing time to walk us through a few of the car's interior features, like syncing our phones with the car's dialing system so we could make hands-free calls on the drive home. Rebecca in the business office was great to work with, too - she came out to the floor and met us, explained how they arrived at the financing options they offered, where they found them, why different banks offered different rates, how they arrived at those figures, and what was going to be our best financing deal. We felt even better about our purchase after meeting with her, and appreciated how transparent SM Hyundai's sales process is. There were a lot of smiles and laughter during our signing over this. Rebecca was friendly and respectful from start to finish, and it was obvious we weren't the first or last sale SM Hyundai had picked up because of the stunts other dealers in the area try to pull. We went to the Shawnee Mission Hyundai on one evening, got to drive the car we wanted, got the price we wanted, and got the financing we wanted. The next evening, we came back, signed all the necessary papers, and drove our new car home with smiles on our faces. If we find ourselves in the car-buying market again in the next few years we would seek out Dion, Rebecca, or anyone else at Shawnee Mission Hyundai, and we've already told a few friends and neighbors about how positive our experience was there.
