I purchased my second hyundai in february this year from Carolina. BEST DECISION EVER! Not only did she call me when there was a special, she called me when there was one black car left. One of the great parts about it was she went over everything I needed to know about my car which to me was great customer service. I think a 5 doesn't even cut it for how well she worked with me. I give her a 150!!! More

I relied upon the accruacy and truthfulness of the Shawnee Mission Hyundai website information and this is my issue with this particular dealership. I had spent a full day searching for cars the prior thursday and was turned on to the hyundai elantra after a visit to a competitor in Missouri (Northtowne, if I can name a name) This dealer was kind and respectful and pointed out the benefits of the Certified program. I planned to have my wife visit this dealership on Saturday, the 14th of April with our trade in vehicle and all records so that, if the deal was right, she could complete it and come home with the vehicle. On the way out the door, my wife preferred to visit a dealer that was closer to my daughter's softball field in Olathe, so we chose your dealer for its reputation according to this very dealer rater service. Here's my mail area of concern: I visited your website and clicked the Pre-Owned link to find a pulldown of menu items including - Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned - and just plain - Hyundai Pre-Owned - among other items. When I selected on - Hyundai Certified - instead of a filtered list of cars that were HYUNDAI CERTIFIED I was met only with the fetures and benefits of the "Hyundai Certified" program. Scrolling to the bottom of this screen, I saw the link to "Search Inventory" where I saw the ad for the vehicle we were interested in, the blue 2011 Elantra GLS (Alabama Plant) vin 5NPDH4AE2BH032305. I told my wife this was the vehicle we were interested in because it would be - CERTIFIED - and include the additional inspections, with any items repaired/replaced as necessary (all documented) additional warranty, free xm sattelite, etc. I was excited to see the vehicle when it came home, but was a little upset when I started digging and a few things didn't seem right. First tipoff, no floormats were included - all three dealerships I had visited two days prior included floormats with all of their used vehicles, let alone their certified vehicles. Second, my wife informed me WE HAD ONLY ONE KEY!!!! No way should a CERTIFIED vehicle roll off the lot without TWO extra keys and an extra key fob! Now I was really curious. I looked over the paperwork and saw no metion of - CERTIFIED - anywhere. I turned on Sirius/XM to find there was no 90 day trial. I looked at the tires and the appear to be original with about 1/2 or more of their tread gone. I inspected the main cleaning filter and the cabin air filter and found them full of debris. The clock, stereo presets, and mileage kept resetting every time I left the vehicle powered off for more than a few minutes AND the remote unlocking wouldn't work! I googled this and discovered that a battery power switch was left in the OFF position (the position used for long term storage or transport) - easily fixed, but very disconcerting. Could it be that Shawnee Mission Hyundai advertised this vehicle as a certified vehicle as implied by the link through the certified program page but it wasn't really certified? I am starting to believe this. In fact, I wondering whether or not any pre-owned vehicles on the lot are certified because scrolling through the website doesn't reveal ANY vehicles that I saw with the logo I had seen at your competitors website. Aside from the implication of the link on the certified page, how the heck is any consumer supposed to know if they are actually purchasing a certified vehicle? What otehr maintenance items have not been performed on this vehicle? I will call the dealership to try to fix this, please alert them that this write up. What I would like is to have this vehicle brought completely up to par under the certified program: two keys, a spare fob, new tires (if the inspection warrants) and any other items replaced under the program guidelines as delineated by Hyundai America, detailed account of the inspections and fixes, and additional warranty applied, as well as trial XM sattelite. FOLLOW UP - MONDAY 16 APRIL I spoke with Michael Bell, the used car manager and relayed all of my concerns as above. He did state that he was familiar and involved with the sale, recalling that my wife had made several visits to the dealership between softball games several miles away. He explained some of the issues with the website and, I believe, the delivery process as stemming from SM Hyundai recently having been bought out by a large auto group and things are still a little chaotic. A few important things to me: - He apologized for the chaos and wants to make it right = He will provide a new key and FOB when I can next bring the vehicle to the dealership - The car IS a certified Hyundai and I will receive documentation of all checklist items for this process having been performed, program documentation including additional warranty protection, and all items wrong being made right - Floormats are often trashed and not worth passing on so this is, according to Mr Bell, not part of the checklist requirements - he will allow me to purchase floormats at cost (wife already bought other mats, at very least I would like the specific drivers side mat - safety concern) - Essentially, the certified delivery process will be completed when I can next get the vehicle to the dealership. Thank you - I will complete my posting after everything is completed. If all goes well, I will improve my scores. UPDATE 2 May: I went back to the dealership to get the spare key(s) and have them complete the certified checklist. They were expecting me and the checklist items were completed over the course of about 3 hours. paperwork was filed to complete the certified process. Everything went smoothly - thanks! More
Salesperson Cody Tanner and Sales Manager Michael Ball were very friendly and knowledgeable. Quick, easy, straight talk, no games. We love our new Tuscon and feel the price and trade in were fair. I explained what I was looking for and came back the next day. We negotiated the sale and still there was no pressure. Patrick was very knowledgeable about the additional products, but again no pressure. This was one of my best experiences in buying a car. There was an issue with XM radio, I notified Jon and he handled the situation immediately. I will recommend the dealership and Jon to anyone that is looking for a vehicle. Hopefully I can get my daughter out of my old vehicle and send her to Jon to purchase her own car. Thanks for great service. More

Further, I tried my hardest to not like Bob because I did not want to get "sold" but Bob was great. He listened to my needs and offered me something that fit them perfectly. He was not pushy at all. He was able to work with me on the price and got me exactly where I asked him to be. It was no hassle at all. Then when, it came to the paperwork, Rebecca was amazing. She gor me in and out in no time and offered me the extended warranty etc but did not push anything on me. All they did was tell me what they could do for me and let me decide what I needed. Truly wonderful experience and I will be telling all of my family and friends to buy their cars there and as long as I can I will never buy a car anywhere else! More

He put me in a great car and was able to work out financing into payments I could afford. Only problems with the car were the rear defrost and the auto lock on the driver door (not a big problem), which Jon is currently working with me to correct. He was very friendly and professional and I will be sending people his way when a friend needs a car. My only concern was with the titling. My father had to cosign (I'm a broke post grad with shaky credit), and the paperwork took too long to do as he was not instructed on how to properly fill out the forms properly. I ended up getting the title the day the temp tags were to expire and had to do a lot of running around in a short amount of time. But for the cost and vehicle quality, not that big of a deal. Jon just did a follow up with me and remembered a lot about me. As a sales specialist, it is impressive when a salesman remembers certain things about you and can bring them up candidly. A good person and member of SMH. More

I finally had the time to I had submitted my interest in a Hyundai Sonata. Bob Wright contacted me about my inquiry and what I wanted in a new car. I finally had the time to seriously look into the Sonata in March 2012 (after having researched it) and I decided that it was time to take a test drive. I was able to take the car on a test drive by myself, (before when I have test drove cars my salesperson always rode with me)having been by myself made it feel like this was not a pushy dealership and I was able to make my decision on my schedule. Bob even became my HERO, when he had to come to my rescue while on a test drive. Thank you, BOB!!! Dealing with Patrick in the finace dept was super easy. He explained everything to me and when I still had other questions about any step of the finance process, he answered it. The dealership is very friendly, even down to the service dept. I would definately recommend this dealership to anyone who is interested in purchasing a new vehicle. Prior to owning my 2012 Sonata I had either driven Chysler or Ford vehicles. My daughter is already counting down the days until she can drive, therefore I see the possibility of returning to purchase another car in the future More
