Over the next few weeks we played phone tag and eventually purchased our 2013 KIA Optima. So glad that we stopped after dinner that night. Vic made the difference. Jonathan Hernandez quickly won us over with his pleasant personality & reassurance of finding the right model for us for our budget. He came through with flying colors & did not disappoint. He followed through with emails & kept us informed of any new information we needed during the purchase period. We enjoy our car so much that my father in law went to see Jonathan too & bought the same model Kia Soul. I guess you could say we have become a Kia family. I wouldn't be surprised when my youngest child asks to get one too when she gets her license!Karp Kia has dutifully stayed in touch & they have been accomodating when both cars have had to be serviced. I bought a 2013 Kia Soul yesterday from Vic. I wanted a very specific combination that they didn't have on the lot and would take some effort to find. Vic and the team worked tirelessly to get me into the very specific combination that they didn't have on the lot and would take some effort to find. I went into Karp Kia on August 13,2012 to get and idea for a second car. Jeff greeted me and I explained my needs. He promptly showed me several models and I settled on a 2013 Kia Soul. I was very pleased and bought the car on the spot. I picked up my new car on August 14,2012 and was amazed how well the tranaction went down. Jeff took me around to meet the service staff and introduced me to several other people that were very polite and a pleasure to do bussiness with. After my experience I will be recommending Karp Kia to my family members and co-workers. Thanks to all at Karp Kia who made the purchase of my new vehicle exciting and pleasurable. More
WOW!!!! What a letdown. I couldn't believe what happened today after visiting this particular dealership. I went to the dealer because I wanted to test drive the optima. After test driving the limited we re today after visiting this particular dealership. I went to the dealer because I wanted to test drive the optima. After test driving the limited we reviewed the price and it was a bit higher than I was willing to go. So we were steered toward the SX Touring, after a verbal agreement with a monthly payment and a trade with my car. After a 2 and a half hour ordeal they asked for a $500 down payment. We agreed to do business. I asked them how much more my payment would be for navigation a month because my wife really wanted it. Peter then stepped away to ask his manager and came back saying the deal was not going to happen with our original verbal agreement and his management approval. They over estimated my trade in by $1000 and if I wanted to keep the deal I would have to come out of pocket an extra $1000. Trying to keep my composure, I asked, “you agreed on that price and now you want to back out”. I believe if they were going to lose money they could of given me another alternative not just say the deal is over because "there not in the business to lose money" and “We didn’t do the bait and switch”. REALLY!!! It surely felt that way, now you not only lost a valuable customer but the entire deal. I usually lease and or buy new vehicles every 3 to 4 years. I could have been a loyal customer for many years to come. So I stormed out with my wife and 2yr old very upset with their lack of professionalism. A felt a manager should of stepped in and apologize for there mistake. They could have been a little more professional. I drove long and far because of the good reviews on dealerrater.com. What a waste of my time and a big disappointment. If you have the cash and or willing to pay them top dollars then, yes they are the place to go, but so are any dealerships in the country. I have owned a business for many years and I would have never let anyone leave my place of business that were willing to buy something, nor leave my business upset for my mistake. I’m sorry dealer rater consumers I didn’t want to discourage anyone from going there; I just wanted to share my experience. I read the good reviews and that’s what drew me to this place. Without these types of websites and people sharing their experiences, we would never know. More
I had a pleasant experience dealing with Karp Kia. I went to the other 3 kia dealerships on long island and as usual was lied to by the sales people and the finance mgr. Right away I felt comfortable with Vic and I knew right away he knew what he was selling. He did take the time to show me all the features of the vehicle, no rush or pressure involved. Todd was also a pleasure to deal with didn't have to sit in his office being pressured to add more items to the sale. David Wells was also a gentleman. Highly recommend this place to anyone, they did not seem fake like most sales people trying to make a sale. More
I had previously leased a Volvo from Karp in 2006. That was a positive experience. My next car after that was not with Karp and it was not a positive experience. Once I decided to get a Kia Optima, I had no doubt about going to Karp. The salesman I dealt with was Ed McGarr. He knew the product well and was extremely easy to work with. No pressure. He did everything he said he would for me. He also got me the price I was looking to pay. The finance manager Todd Johnson was also easy to work with. He explained the financial side in clear easy terms. If my next car after this one is sold by Karp, I will definitely go back. More

He did not pressure us at all and I left that night knowing I would be back to purchase the automobile from him. When my brother and I returned to make a deal, Michael was very honest and accomodating. We were also introduced to the manager David Wells who sealed the deal. Todd made the financing work and I left with a date to pick up my new car. Michael really cares as he has called to make sure everything is going well and I am understanding all the technology in the car. I know he is sincere when he says call me with any questions or concerns. I never thought buying a car could feel this good. I will definetely recommend this dealership to anyone interested in buying a new car. The car is fantastic and I am happy that I was able to buy a car so close to my home. More
