Mr. K., My name is Patrick O'Connor. I am the Customer Relations Manager at Ganley Toyota. We met the evening you picked up your Prius C. I woudl appreciate it if you would call me at 330-733-7511 to discuss your review on Dealer Rater review. Sincerely, Patrick O'Connor

Mr. K., We are disappointed by your review of our dealership. From the very beginning we explained that you had the option to choose either the rebate or the special financing rate. This is documented in Toyota’s television and print ads and on their website. This is also in all our print ads and on our website. You kept trying to negotiate for both. We explained that since this choice comes from Toyota it is not something our dealership can negotiate. We honored the price you offered to pay. After you signed a contract you continued to try to renegotiate every aspect of the transaction. Our documents showed that you paid exactly the price you agreed upon. On several occasions we offered to reimburse your deposit and allow you out of the contract. You freely chose to purchase the vehicle from our dealership. We are at a loss as to what more we could have done for you.

Hi Mr. O'Connor, There were 2 concerns in the note: 1) Price offered to final price. It is not much difference, about $100. When I asked about, the sales manager did not want to sell the car and he mentioned that he never agreed to the price. To me that is being rude to customers after your sales person agreed to the price. 2) I did not see the advertisement. If I did, I would not have asked for. No where in the communication or discussion, I was mentioned that I can't have both. I even asked Blake if I can get financing and he looked into and said that it is 0%. Lets assume that he is not aware. I talked to your finance manager and he gave me a monthly price of $314 after adding the extended warranty. How did he calculate it? Third, I filled the finance application and mentioned that I would like to get 0% apr, the person never mentioned about not getting the rebate. Thanks, K

JK responded

Mr. O'Connor, I can forward you the e-mail that Blake agreed to match the price on and what the cost would be with that mail and the cost that I finally paid. It is the question on how do your math. I did not re-negotiate the price, I was pointing to the price that I was promised with. If you show me any e-mail or phone conversation that Blake had giving me the final price before the day I signed, I am willing to change the review. If you would want the proof, go and read the e-mail conversation that I had with your sales person on Jan 27th and what the price should be based on the e-mail and what it is on 2nd. I even showed the e-mail that showed what the price would be if I chose the other dealer. You can talk to Kyle, who was the sales person who was there with me on Feb 2nd. The reason I ended up buying is not I enjoyed dealing with you, b'cz I got stuck as the other dealer sold the car. Sorry to send you two messages, I was trying to dig into the e-mail conversation and give you the dates. I did not want to spoil my day when I picked the car, so did not want to tell you all the story. Thanks for taking time to respond. Thanks, K

Mr. K, Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, Blake is not here today and I am off tomorrow. On Saturday he and I will sit down and go over all the paper work and see if we can find the $100 discrepency. I ask for your patience. I may not get back to you until Monday. I appreciate your willingness to change the review if we can come to an understanding. Thank you, Patrick O'Connor

Ken Ganley Toyota Akron responded

Mr. Katta, We will be sitting donw on Monday to go over all the paperwork on the deal. We will be looking at the taxes on the warranty and other things to see if we can find the discrepency. Please keep in mind, the price of the vehicle is taxed by the State before we take the rebate off the price. Hopefully, we will have something for you on Monday. Thank you, Patrick O'Connor

Feb 14, 2015 -

Ken Ganley Toyota Akron responded

Mr. Katta, Blake and I were able to sit down this morning afterall and go through the paperwork. The price you paid is the same price you agreed upon when you signed the hand written buyer's order. I can fax you the papers. We looked at the taxes on the rebate and it is $118.00. According to State law, we have to charge you taxes on that rebate amount. This is not money that Ganley Toyota gets paid. It is money to the State of Ohio. I believe that is the dscrepency of $100.00 you discovered. As I mentioned before, you were also taxed on the price of the warranty. I read the emails and listened to your phone calls with Blake. I could not find any mention of the rebate or special finance rate discussed in any of the them. Perhaps this was part of your discussions in person to which I was not a party. I can say that our sales people are trained to never promise both because it is not possible to give both. There is no email with the final out the door price but you did receive a copy of the buyers order you signed on 2-1-15 with the final price (minus the warranty). That price did not change. You stated in your email "If you show me any e-mail or phone conversation that Blake had giving me the final price before the day I signed, I am willing to change the review." I believe you have the prpoof you need (or I can fax you another copy). The price you agreed upon three days before you signed the papers is the price you paid. Since I belive we have found the $100.00 discrepency, I respectfully request that you call me at 330-733-7511 to discuss your Dealer Rater review. Sincerely, Patrick O'Connor

Feb 14, 2015 -

JK responded

Mr.O'Connor, As I mentioned the reason I had to sign the papers on 2-1 is I lost the car with the other dealer. In the e-mail what Blake mentioned he would match is 16499/- plus tax and title. I showed Kyle what the final price would have been if went with other dealer (this I did not forward to Blake). Did you find anywhere in the e-mails or voice calls that I got the final price? I am copying the e-mail text from the other dealer. "The out the door price on the 14 Prius C (including $250 Documentary Fee, $33.50 Tag and Title and sales tax of $1,130.56 = $17,913.06 plus 0% for 60 months gives you a monthly payment of $298.55. " This was a day or two before I started dealing with Blake. So, I assumed that when he agreed to 16499 and tax, it will be the same. This dealer was able to do both. Did you hear the conversation with your finance person that I had 1/28? He mentioned that the monthly price will be $314/-. Regards, Jani

Feb 16, 2015 -

Ken Ganley Toyota Akron responded

Mr. Katta, The other dealer would not have been able to give you both the rebate and the 0% finance rate. Toyota does not allow it. If they told you they could they were mistaken. At no time did we tell you we could do both the financing and the rebate. The price you paid was $16,498.27. The sale price on your contract says $18,248.27 and then you subtract the $1,750.00 rebate and the price is $16,498.27. I'm not sure why you brought up payments since you paid cash. The difference is the warranty and the loan using the rebate rather than the 0% financing. But that is irrelevant because you went with a cash transaction. Sir, everytime I offer an explanation you bring up something else. I am at a loss. I have documented proof with your signature that the sale price is $16,498.27 plus taxes and title. We explained the so-called discrepency of $100.00. We did everything you asked. The sale price is what we promised. We did not make an extra $100.00. I ask that you remove the review from Dealer rater. Sincerely, Patrick O'Connor

Feb 17, 2015 -

JK responded

Mr.O'Connor The other dealer sent me in an e-mail on the price and they have to stick to it. If they or they can't is not what we are talking about. You see what they promised. What your sales person promised is 16499 + tax/title/doc fee. At the end of the day the costs don't match. I went with cash transaction b'cz you team changed their mind and said that my option is either go with rebate or go with 2.9% apr. I had to find resources to get the deal. If I would have known about this on day one, I would have gone with the other dealer. I haven't heard anything on the promise that your finance person talked to me on phone. You explained the discrepency, but not solve it. I will not consider to change the review till you understand fully and have a good answer. Jani

Ken Ganley Toyota Akron responded

Mr. Katta, I am sorry you feel that way. I never promised you that my finance person would call you. In none of the emails did you mention BOTH the rebate and 0% financing. What we promised was the price. The price matches. I have written proof with your name on it that the prices match. There is no dispute. The so called $100.00 difference is the tax on the rebate over which we have no control. Obviously you do not want to talk to me because I have asked you to call me in every email. We did not take an extra $100.00 dollars from you. We did not promise you both the rebate and the 0%. We have been honest and up front with you. At this point I do not know what I can say to convince you. You will not accept anything I say. If you choose to call me I will talk to you. Otherwise I leave it to you to live up to your word. Thank you. Patrick O'Connor

I am not asking your finance person to call me. What I'm asking is did you hear to the conversation that I had with your finance person on 1/28, where he gave me the $314 as the monthly amount. If you are available, I can call you today after 5pm. K

O'Connor, You did not want to even hear the issue and want me to just agree to your responses. I asked Blake if I can get 0% APR, he even opened his book and said yes. Go and look into your recordings. I even filled the application on that day. I haven't seen you take time to look into the finance question and the price they offered me on 1/28. Thanks for your time, K
