I live in UT County but went to Riverdale because they are the only GMC dealership in the State that still participates in the Costco auto program. I passed five GMC dealerships on my way there because I are the only GMC dealership in the State that still participates in the Costco auto program. I passed five GMC dealerships on my way there because I would be saving some money through Costco. This was communicated over the phone well in advance as we had actually placed an order for a Yukon two months earlier. We were told that someone canceled their order on a Yukon that had just been delivered. It had nearly everything we wanted including the 3.0 Duramax engine. We were told if we wanted to purchase it that the price is $3k over MSRP. I asked if we could split the difference. After talking with the manager, our salesman was able to lower it to $2k if we financed through the dealership. Fine by me. We were eligible for a first responder’s discount and had the Costco discount too. I was thinking that those discounts would help offset some of the cost over MSRP. The Yukon had a defective part that needed to be repaired. We drove up to the dealership on a Saturday to sign all the paperwork as we wouldn’t have time to do that on a weeknight if that was when the vehicle was ready. Our salesman prepped the paperwork and reviewed the price with us. I saw the first responder’s discount but no Costco discount. I asked about that and was told that we are paying $2k over MSRP instead of $3k because of the Costco discount. I reminded him that we were only paying $2k because we are getting financing through them. He asks for a minute and returns with his manager who proceeds to tell us they have no inventory and need to charge over MSRP to maintain employees and keep the lights on. I totally get that and am supportive of that logic. I was fine paying $2k over because of the other discounts that we were eligible for and that I had communicated well in advance. In fact, our salesman seemed proud when he told me that they have people traveling from out of State to purchase through them because they still participate in the Costco program. I explained this to the sales manager who simply responded that they have no inventory and could sell this Yukon for $5k over MSRP by the end of the day if we aren’t willing to pay their price. I felt so backed into a corner as we had already sold my wife’s car. We needed this Yukon. I asked the sales manager how much the Costco discount is. He responded “MSRP”. I was confused and asked again. Same response; MSRP. So I said, you’re telling me that the Costco discount is that you won’t charge me over MSRP? He deflected and reminded us how they don’t have inventory and could easily sell it for $5k over MSRP by the end of the day. He even told us someone from NC had called on our Yukon earlier that day. So somehow we aren’t eligible for the Costco discount? It ticks me off that this dealership brags about participating in the Costco program but doesn’t give you the discount. We drove past FIVE GMC dealerships to get to Ken Garff Riverdale. They are getting business filtered their way via Costco and not holding up their end of the bargain. It is dishonest and deceitful. It is likely damaging other GMC dealerships that are being honest and not participating in the Costco program because they can’t afford to. Our salesman slipped in an extended warranty that had not been discussed at all until we were signing papers and I inquired about it. The document for Gap Insurance is titled “Gap Waiver” which leads one to believe that they are waiving Gap Insurance. Not the case, it is the agreement to purchase it. That got slipped in as well; hadn’t been mentioned until that point. The final purchase price on all of the documentation had been calculated to include both the warranty and Gap Insurance. Good or bad we were planning on purchasing an extended warranty but hadn’t communicated that to our salesman, until the Costco discount fiasco. At this point we were very upset and just wanted to get out of there, we signed everything because we felt we had to being down to one car. I’ve never had a worse experience, ever. More

After the vehicle arrived there were 6 more visible scratches on the car (odd you send a car to fix one scratch but not their ones) I was told that the car was detailed but we had to send a detailed person to re-clean for some obvious spots (around a string wheel, headrest, and moon roof slide cover)it was only vacuumed front and middle seats but not the back and trunk The car had a service done (oil change and inspection) but while driving I was trying to use windshield washer and there was no fluid (I truly don't know if the service was done or the technician just skipped it), trailer brake controller is bad I need to replace it, they were surprised that windshield had a chip in it Our salesperson was able to drop the vehicle price down by $500 to set all the repairs that but the current repair cost is around 2k I know you are asking why I purchased the vehicle, so we had to put $1000 non-refundable deposit and we have to travel from 5 hours to get to the dealership (rent a car, fuel, food) so with that, we would lose close to $2000 and we had to make a decision live and repair this car or lose 2k so we purchased the car More
