I had to take car in for recall 3 times. Appointments were made but when took it in, there were no appointments or parts weren't ordered or something. Then had recalled windshield replaced, and they didn't retint or replace with a tinted window. Said it wouldn't be paid for. Told that after the fact. Why wasn't I told that before I replaced the windshield?. I would not have had it replaced. I need my tint and can't afford to replace it myself. I should have been told. More
I bought my 2017 vehicle from Kerry Ford and have gone to the Quick Lane for regular maintenance since I bought the vehicle. The Quick Lane is great, but the service side has been terrible. I have had multip the Quick Lane for regular maintenance since I bought the vehicle. The Quick Lane is great, but the service side has been terrible. I have had multiple unpleasant experiences there but my last one will make the last time I go there. I thought my oil was leaking and the Quick Lane confirmed it, put dye in it and asked that I come back to the service side after driving it some so they could identify where the leak was coming from. My car is still under warranty so I went to the service side who told me that my main engine seal was leaking oil but that they wouldn’t cover this under my warranty because my oil pan was not factory. Seeing as my oil pan doesn’t touch the main engine seal, that didn’t make any sense. They also said they would need my car for 3 weeks to fix this problem. I ended up speaking with a different Ford dealer who confirmed that the oil pan would not cause the main oil seal to leak and graciously scheduled me in to have the issue fixed under warranty and they only need to keep my car a week. I will not be going back to the Kerry Ford Service side, nor will I be buying another vehicle from Kerry Ford as they can’t uphold the extended warranty that is purchased from them. More
I came in for the WORKS package to get a oil change and tire rotation. They should have checked the air pressure in the tire, if they put air in the tires, they only put 28 to 30 pounds of pressure in each tire rotation. On 6/14 we had a 2017 Ford Transit that broke down and needed to be towed to Kerry. Unfortunately, we were told we needed a new engine (about 3 months after we needed to replace the transmission at a ano needed to be towed to Kerry. Unfortunately, we were told we needed a new engine (about 3 months after we needed to replace the transmission at a another service center). Spent over $9K on the new engine. We got the car back a month later on 7/14. On 7/16 the check engine light came on and were told we had a bad purge valve. It was not in stock and on a major backorder with Ford and it could be months before we could get it - I totally understand this in todays current state. On 7/21 we found the valve online and ordered the OEM part which would take a couple weeks for $200. While waiting for the part to arrive, on 7/29 the car wouldn't start and we needed to jump it. On 8/4 the car wouldn't start and needed a jump. We took the car to an auto parts store who tested it and said we needed a new battery. On 8/8 we took it back to Kerry and replaced the battery for $340. On 8/9 we took the car back because the windshield wipers would not work. We were told it was a loose wire. At this point the purge valve had come in so they installed the purge valve and replaced a transmission shifter cable bushing that was a recall from Ford. Within 5 minutes of leaving the dealership, the wipers would come on and off randomly and could not be turned off. We took it back and were told we would need to spend $850 to replace both wiper motors. I researched what would cause this, and found this is a common problem after installing a new battery. Apparently there are a few steps that need to be done to fix the problem not related to replacing the wiper motors. I called in and spoke to a representative that told me this could have nothing to do with their repair and it had to be the wiper motors. Enough is enough. I work in a service industry (HVAC). This is the type of runaround you get when you go with the "low bid". I am fine with paying for a professional to do a job the right way the first time. Either the technicians need additional training or this is a money grab. When you spend close to $10K in out of pocket expenses and haven't had a car for close to 60 days, you expect more. Side note if you're still reading - I have purchased (3) Escapes, (2) Transits, (1) F250 Super Duty, (1) E350, and (1) GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 since 2015. Three of the vehicles were purchased at Kerry. It is very clear to me they do not care about my business and I highly doubt they will care about yours. Do yourself a favor and go to a different dealership. Although it seems as though the service side of the business has gone down hill across the board. More
