I came here because of on-line reviews of their service department and because a visit to a nearby dealership for a flat tire left me feeling like that dealership was trying to pull one over on me (backed up by online reviews). I did not buy my car at Young (they couldn't locate what I ultimately decided on--Golf R with specific options), but my experience with their sales staff was great--their salesman let me drive manual and auto GTI's and was very friendly and sincere. Young's site has a built-in maintenance grid showing exactly what VW recommends (though, by their service contact's admission, VW requires this--perhaps this is government regulated now). In other words, there was nothing added on, which my previous Honda dealerships often did. They had a coupon for synthetic oil/filter change that covered the entire visit (this service is essentially an oil/filter change plus multi-point inspection). This saved about $20 over the price quote on the maintenance grid on their site. In addition, they submitted a Castrol rebate coupon for me, which, when it arrives, should give $20 off the next oil change. No fancy extras (e.g., car wash or vacuuming) thrown in, but I also wasn't pressured into any additional work. Note that this was only a 10k mile visit, so time will tell what happens at higher mileage visits. So far, so good. More
