Shady Math and Straight Up Lies — Don’t Let LeMans Car Play You Went to LeMans Car today for a vehicle listed at $17,995. After negotiating, we agreed on $16,995 with $3,000 down — so I should’ve been Play You Went to LeMans Car today for a vehicle listed at $17,995. After negotiating, we agreed on $16,995 with $3,000 down — so I should’ve been financing about $14K, maybe $16K total after taxes and registration. Simple math. But when it came time to sign, the finance guy had me financing $22,000. How does a $17K car turn into $22K after I put $3K down? That’s not a mistake — that’s a hustle. I made it clear: no warranty, no GAP, no extras, no games. Yet they still tried to sneak in: • a “destination fee,” which only applies to brand new cars being shipped from the factory — not used cars sitting on a lot, • a “certified pre-owned” fee (certified by who? the guy in the back? • a bank acquisition fee, • and said GAP insurance was mandatory — on an 8-year-old car that’s already fully depreciated. When I pressed for a breakdown of all those bogus fees, there was still about $3,000 missing that even the finance manager couldn’t account for. At that point, it was obvious — they were padding numbers and hoping I wouldn’t catch it. This is exactly how people get taken advantage of. They pad the numbers with hidden add-ons and hope you’re too distracted or too excited to catch it. From what I experienced, this place is shady as xxxx. Google reviews might look nice, but go read the independent dealer review sites — that’s where the real stories are. If management sees this — I came in to buy a car, not to get hustled. More
Purchased a used car from this dealership in July 2024. Right away the service engine message comes on and I was told their mechanic must have forgotten to clear it. Within one week the check engine light Right away the service engine message comes on and I was told their mechanic must have forgotten to clear it. Within one week the check engine light came on. Brought it back and they only reset it with the scanner. Another week later it came on again. They told me it’s only the nox sensor and won’t cause harm to the car. I said it will affect my emissions and gas mileage so they reluctantly had me drop off my car to their mechanic while I was out of town for a week. When I picked it up I was told they cleaned the sensor because it only needed a cleaning. February 2025 the check engine light comes back on again with the same error code from scanner. I called and was told it’s past the 90 days warranty and just to reset the car. Yes resetting the code by scanner makes the check engine light go away but now my car won’t pass inspection and when I brought it to my own mechanic to replace the nox sensor he can’t even remove it because it’s threads are so warm off. And the mileage -filled up tank showing 535 miles; drive for 100 miles and now the count went down to 305 miles. Don’t even get me going on the price of car advertised vs what I was charged and it was because no company would finance the car at a low amount to hit the monthly payment I was able to afford. More
My husband and I traveled 4 hours to this dealership to look at an advertised vehicle. Upon arrival we find out that the good price we thought we would be getting was falsely advertised because we were tol look at an advertised vehicle. Upon arrival we find out that the good price we thought we would be getting was falsely advertised because we were told they automatically add 4 grand onto the purchase price, but not to worry....because they paid the taxes out of that money.(Not true)! We dealt with Mike, who i will say was a nice guy! We ended up looking at another vehicle and agreed on a price of 38k with no extra 4 grand added on! Well when we sat down to buy the car w the owner, he started off by describing the "free" warranty that the car came with. We were extremely surprised and elated at that! After about an hour of talking we were given the price.of about 850 per month! After putting 7k down! When looking at the finance paper work, the car that we were supposed to be borrowing 31k on...was actually costing us 50k!! The add ons were CRAZY!! This guy added everything he could including 3.5k for the "free" warranty! Gave us a 12% finance charge and asked us to do a gentleman's agreement and pay that for 6.months and then verbally promised he would get that finance charge knocked down to about 6%! WHAT?! WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THAT! When my husband saw the paperwork he literally told me to get up that we were leaving! The finance guy became enraged and and started raising his voice and was trying to scratch down on paper to explain all the fees....we were done listening! We left and our salesman chased us out to the parking lot....the next day they gave us a cash price that was 3 grand more than the agreed upon price! Needless to say, I was devastated...I wanted that car! All I can say is Buyer Beware! Extreme hidden fees, false advertising and predatory sales agreements! Read everything and ask to see physical papers of what you would be agreeing to. My husband insisted on seeing the actual paperwork because the finance guy tried to say it was all digital!! Baloney! Never have I seen this type of car sales tactics under the guise that New York has different requirements! We wasted 8 hours of driving and 3.5 hours at a dealership that wasn't worth 5 minutes of my time! AGAIN...BUYER BEWARE...READ EVERYTHING AND GET VERBAL AGREEMENTS IN WRITING!! Thank God my husband has a head on his shoulders or we might have been suckered in to the worst deal of a lifetime! We eventually went to a reputable dealer and paid the agreed upon price with no hidden fees! More
Worst experience ever. Vinny and the team were deceptive after wasting 2 hours of my time we finally agreed on a price. Then they added over $10k in fees. Totally dishonest Vinny and the team were deceptive after wasting 2 hours of my time we finally agreed on a price. Then they added over $10k in fees. Totally dishonest and a waste of time trust the other reviews and don't bother. More
I copied and pasted the exact review because I had the exact experience. Predatory Selling Practices - BUYER BEWARE! I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience at Lemans Cars, and I feel exact experience. Predatory Selling Practices - BUYER BEWARE! I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience at Lemans Cars, and I feel compelled to share this with others to warn them. I strongly advise anyone considering doing business here to be extremely cautious. Here are just a few of the unethical tactics I encountered: 1) Misleading pricing with over $4,500 is added fees above the agreed-upon sales price. 2) Unfulfilled promises regarding fixing known defects. 3) Lies - I was told by the sales rep that there were no add-on fees if I financed the vehicle. 4) Deception - a $2,700 warranty was slipped in without my knowledge and when I confronted them the next day, I was advised that this was required by the finance company. It seems as though they are more interested in tricking customers than being transparent or offering honest deals. The fair price that was negotiated ended up closing out at over 40% more than discussed. Buying a car should leave one with a great feeling but for me, every time I look at the car, I am reminded of how foolish I was to buy this car from Lemans Cars. If you have had a similar experience, I highly encourage you to report Lemans Cars to consumer protection agencies and leave a review to help others avoid falling into the same trap. If I can save others from getting hurt the way I did, I will be happy. Should you choose to buy a car from Lemans Cars, please stay vigilant, get a full explanation of every line entry on the contract, and do not let them pressure you into making any decisions. I worked online with two different sales people, and we agreed on a price after a week. When I started dealing with Jack from finance, he would not accept the agreed-on price and even said the sales price agreed on a price after a week. When I started dealing with Jack from finance, he would not accept the agreed-on price and even said the sales price would be about 2k more if I wanted to pay cash (which is false advertising), as I was on the fence of how to pay. He then sent me purchase paperwork, which had an extended warranted added on of more than 2k, and he said it was required with financing (another lie), plus other charges totaling more than 3k that, he said, he did not need to disclose to me, as I was out of state and the car in New York. They also keep relisting the car to make it look like a new listing (it's been listed since at least November). I finally found another car with a reputable, honest dealer elsewhere. More
