I went to a different jeep dealer in January for a routine oil change and to check a recall. I would normally avoid the dealer for basic maintenance but was trying to save some hassle of doing these a routine oil change and to check a recall. I would normally avoid the dealer for basic maintenance but was trying to save some hassle of doing these at the same appointment. I had a terrible experience but that is beyond the point. Due to the previous experience I decided to travel to Lia as I had decent experiences with them in the past when I lived closer and they were recommended by my in-laws. When trying to schedule an appointment for a NYS inspection and check engine light it was a minimum month wait. I was able to schedule the appointment for 4/1 and my inspection was due in March. I specified that the appointment was for an inspection and check engine light. We dropped the car off the night before for an 8am appointment. Even on the key envelope I checked the car was there for inspection and check engine light. At 8am they called saying the hybrid/ev tech called out and they wouldn’t be able to even look at it until Friday. Why is there only ONE hybrid/ev tech available? I had to pick up the car and reschedule. We returned the following Monday night to drop it off. Once again on the key drop off envelope I checked inspection and check engine light with details written in. The appointment was scheduled for Tuesday at 730am. At 1030am I called to check in. I eventually got through to a tech’s voicemail where I checked in and requested a call back. No response. I began trying to call and check in again around 130/2. I wasn’t able to speak to an actual person until 330 where I was told the service advisor was in the back talking with the tech to check on my car and he would “call me right back.” At 530 I called again. After paging, going in the back to look for him etc, someone was able to get him on the phone. After having my car for 10 hours they had no idea what was wrong and had some questions about how the car was working recently. I got the impression it had not even been looked at until that moment. It was not until that point I was informed I would not be getting my car back that day. I made attempts to check in again Wednesday at 11am with no luck getting through to anyone and when I did I was hung up on. The service advisor finally called me at 2pm with an update on what was wrong, coolant leak and needing water pump replaced. No further updates until Thursday at 8am that the car was done, after I had been stranded without a car for 48+ hours. A previous experience at Lia a loaner car was waiting for me when a much smaller issue couldn’t be resolved in the same day. I purchased the max care at the time I bought the car. Luckily due to this it was no cost when I picked my car up. I had to go directly back to work after getting the car. When I got home I had thought further about not having to pay and didn’t believe the inspection would have been covered under max care so I should have had to pay something. I went back out to look at my car and the inspection sticker remained with a 3/26 expiration. The inspection was never even completed. I was not intending to write a review despite my poor experience but after realizing they didn’t do one of the main things I needed done I changed my mind. More
I typically do not write reviews but in this case, I just have to. Without going into a lot of details, which I'll most certainly run out of space and if the dealership wants to call me, I will provide them. have to. Without going into a lot of details, which I'll most certainly run out of space and if the dealership wants to call me, I will provide them. Vinny made our visit one of the absolute worse times buying a car and we've bought a lot. We went in there planning, without question, to buy a jeep summit and ram rho. I am not just saying that really, we were. All we wanted was to see them and have a quick test drive, not too much to ask when dropping 100k+ on vehicles. I am not a sensitive person but Vinny spoke to us with such disrespect it's unbelievable, for him I hope it was just a bad day. After the 2nd insult we wanted to leave but just to be positive, we waited until the 4th before we were out the door. Short drive away at another dealership, and I won't even drop them a positive mention in this review, but they were great, we bought what the wife wanted and soon I'll be getting the truck I want. I’ve always had good experiences with the team at Lia CJDR Schenectady — Freddy Estrada in service is excellent at communicating and always professional. That’s why this one stung. I supplied my own D3S CJDR Schenectady — Freddy Estrada in service is excellent at communicating and always professional. That’s why this one stung. I supplied my own D3S bulb and ballast for my 2019 Grand Cherokee and was charged $340 in labor only for what most shops and RepairPal list as a 0.5–1.5 hour job (dealer average $180–$250). Even YourMechanic quotes $129–$167 flat for the same work. I completely understand labor rates and that HID access on the Grand Cherokee isn’t the easiest, but when I’m bringing the parts myself, more than triple the going independent/mobile rate feels excessive. Hoping Freddy and Service Manager Rob Dariano can review invoice # 115903 and offer a goodwill adjustment. I’d love to keep coming back to Lia, but this one left a bad taste. Thank you — still a fan of the dealership overall, just looking for this to be made right. More
