Strong arm tatics to get my vehicle inspected. I brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change and inspection. After a 2 hour wait I was informed that the vehicle would not pass inspection due to I brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change and inspection. After a 2 hour wait I was informed that the vehicle would not pass inspection due to a torn windshield wiper. The wipers could be replaced at my expense of $30.00 I was also told that the rear windshield was completely torn and unusable but was not included in the $30.00 replacement fee. I was also informed of a mouse nest in my air filter canister. This could be removed for the cost of $39.00. I refused the offer and explained that I would take the vehicle to another inspection center for inspection. I was laughed at and told “if you have the time to waste, go right ahead”. I paid my $10.00 partial inspection fee and brought my vehicle to another inspection center where it was determined that ALL of my windshield wipers were perfectly fine ( I replaced the wipers 4 months prior) and that there was NO mouse nest in the air filter canister. This appears to be a blatant attempt to pressure me into purchasing something that was not necessary for monetary gain on the dealer’s part. I also took photos of the wipers directly after my visit with Lia Nissan dealership that shows no such tear. I stayed calm and professional during the entire ordeal although I realized what was happening. A complaint was registered with the state of New York. More
