In June, 2020 I purchased a 2017 Ram 1500 4x4 from Lindsay CDJR in Manassas, VA. I dealt with a salesman who I felt was not listening to my wants and needs. I looked at several vehicles over a 4 day p Lindsay CDJR in Manassas, VA. I dealt with a salesman who I felt was not listening to my wants and needs. I looked at several vehicles over a 4 day period and had decided on a different 2017 pickup. I made an appointment to complete the paperwork, and on the day of my appointment I received one voicemail and 3 text messages from the Sales Manager to confirm, however when I arrived at my appointment time,, I was informed the salesman wasn't even working and no one else had information on the deal we had discussed. The next day, I went back to the dealer after speaking with this salesman. By this time I was told the truck I was planning to buy had been sold the previous night. I was shown another truck. I made it clear I wanted a one-owner, low mileage truck with a clean Carfax. He showed me the truck, a Carfax report showing no accidents and assured me it had been certified. That provides a thorough inspection and extended warranty. Fast forward 6 months and I had a truck that swayed when I drove on the highway, shook and rattled like a 10 year old car and was in the shop for alignments, antilock brake problems, airbag sensor failures and a fuel pump issue. I sold the truck to another CDJR dealer, at a great loss because the Carfax report he pulled up online reported a truck had been in a significant accident 8 months after it was first purchased causing damage to the drivers side from the front door to the back bumper that caused a twisted undercarriage. The Carfax showed a report date of May 12, 2018. The truck was purchased as mentioned in June 2020. The dealership denied knowing this, and although the salesman who showed me a clean Carfax that was suspiciously missing from the documentation on file, I was llkely shown one for a different truck and VIN, and I believe he was trying to sell a truck he knew was damaged. I couldn't know what the VIN was for a truck I was looking at. The dealership was given the chance to buy back the truck but since it was showing moderate to severe damage, they offered less and explained this truck could not be sold on their lot but would go straight to auction. The salesman no longer worked for this dealer.. The dealership that ultimately bought my truck sent it to auction. I guess Lindsay only sells damaged, CERTIFIED RAM TRUCKS until they are caught doing so. My advice, always confirm the VIN on the vehicle you purchase is the VIN, make and model on the Carfax report before you sign the paperwork. My next advice is find another dealer to purchase from. I haven't ruled out seeing an attorney, but I am smart enough to know a company with resources as extensive as Lindsay has plenty of lawyers to keep any lawsuit from tarnishing their reputation. I will never purchase from any Lindsay Auto Store again and strongly recommend you do the same More
