Had my vehicle towed in because it would not start. The dealer diagnosed that the battery was fine but the starter was dead. They offered to repair it for $900 for a rebuilt starter, or $1700 for a new sta dealer diagnosed that the battery was fine but the starter was dead. We chose to take it to a local repair show to have the work done as they were able to do the repair with a new starter for under $600. I think Luther does a fine job, but the pricing seems a bit high. Fast forward a week, we replaced the starter, but that wasn’t the problem. Now we are having the alternator replaced. I don’t know if the starter was bad in the first place and this is a secondary problem... but I am very concerned that the $150 diagnosis was wrong. More
