Purchased and dealt with Subaru for years. Recently, my wife who is meticulous with service to her Legacy, requested a routine 6K service. Over the years we have developed a trusting relations Recently, my wife who is meticulous with service to her Legacy, requested a routine 6K service. Over the years we have developed a trusting relationship with Advisor Mario Rodriquez, whose advice has always been clearly explained, accepted, and appreciated. On this occasion, he was busy and my wife was summoned to another advisor unknown to her. Upon stating she desired a 6K service she was informed that a 60K service was due based upon the monthly timing schedule even though she had only 44,784 miles on the vehicle. However, the advisor was overly convincing and my wife finally accepted without notifying me. Her vehicle has been serviced there since purchase and all service records are available to Subaru. Although the monthly suggested time had been met, the mileage was even below 6K and 15,216 below the suggested 60K service. With the use of semi-synthetic oils today, the mileage should always trump the time element and I believe common sense should have applied in this instance and the decision should have gone with the customer's request. The result was a charge of $1552.32, vice the normal 6K charge of $153.05 (less the "doggie" deduction). My suspicion is that a pricing gimmick may apply here, but fortunately it won't happen to us again!! I would like to thank Mario for all the excellent service and advice afforded us in the past. Prior to this incident, I would have rated this agency much higher!! More
