I contacted the dealership re:internet sale. Salesman told me he would call me back within an hour and never called back. After 6 hours I called the dealership and spoke to a manager and was told the veh told me he would call me back within an hour and never called back. After 6 hours I called the dealership and spoke to a manager and was told the vehicle I inquired about had been sold that morning, (would have appreciated a call from the salesman to explain). The next day I saw the same vehicle again on the net advertised for $400 less than the day before, I again contacted the dealership and was told that financing on the sale fell through (again I would have thought the salesman might have called to tell me this). I began making arrangements with a salesman (not the same as the day before) to have the vehicle shipped and after three calls (the saleman Mr. Eric Romero) even offered to deliver the vehicle himself. Six minutes after speaking with him and asking him to determine if the vehicle had been smoked in (I live 500 miles away) I recieved a call from a man stating that he was a manager at the dealership and that Eric had to leave. He said that it was apparent that I was not wanting to lock in a deal so they released the truck and now another person was attempting to make a deal on it. He added that he would be happy to take my credit card information in case that deal fell through he would go ahead and put a $1000 deposit on the vehicle for me. I did not know who this person was (he didn't even give me a name until I asked for it) and when I hung up with this "manager" I called the saleman I had been dealing with and he had no idea any of this was going on, he was under the impression the manager was going to take my information so that the final sale paperwork could be completed. I have bought many vehicles in my life and occasionally had a few bought out from under me, but never had 1 bought out from under me twice from the same dealership!!!! Bottom line with this dealership is if your not physically on the lot to take possesion of a vehicle, you stand a great chance of them selling it to anyone offering an additional dollar no matter what stage of a deal your in. P.S. This was a cash deal, not a bad trade in or poor credit issue..... More
I lost the key to my 4Runner and went there to get a new one. I gave them my VIN number and a new key made, but it didn't work right. I had to jiggle it around in the ignition for 5 minutes to get it to tur one. I gave them my VIN number and a new key made, but it didn't work right. I had to jiggle it around in the ignition for 5 minutes to get it to turn. The door locks were almost impossible. I had them make two more keys using my VIN number with even worse results. When they told me they wanted $400 to replace all the locks and ignition I thought something was up. I ended up going to another Toyota dealer who was able to produce a perfect key without a problem.
