He showed me some cars and we finally settled on a 2002 BMW X5. The car was very fun to drive and my son fell in love with it. The only problem that I did see, which Jeff brought up, was the 2 front tires needed to be replaced. After looking at other cars at other dealers and comparing prices for the X5, I decided to purchase this one. I did share my concerns with Jeff about the issues that this car with this many miles might have. He assured me that it would be ok because the give a 3 month, 3000 mile warranty with every car they sell. I bought the car for a final price of $6333.50. That next day I went to get 2 new tires. I found out that because it is an all wheel drive you can't buy just 2 new tires, you need to buy all 4. I went to 3 different tire shops and they all said the same thing. So now I'm out another $812.00. While the shop was putting on the new tires they said that something was leaking. I took the car to another shop and spent $114 for them to tell me what is leaking. I could try and tell you what was leaking, but it would be quicker to tell you what was not leaking. The car needs all new seals, gaskets and 2 new belts. This will all cost another $4000.00. I was hoping that the warranty would defer some of the costs, but come to find out that it is only good if the car breaks down. The thing that upsets me the most about this whole thing is that I was told that the car was checked. If this was true then they knew that every seal and gasket leaked. I will be buying 2 more cars within the next 2 years and I WILL not be returning to this dealership. I will also not be lazy and take it my shop located on South Hill for their opinion. More
