Went in to get my replacement radio Vin coded to my 2015 sonic. I was told the appointment that I made wasn't in the system. No problem, they set it up. Then they said it would be a $149 diagnostic fee. I a sonic. I was told the appointment that I made wasn't in the system. No problem, they set it up. Then they said it would be a $149 diagnostic fee. I asked if they're unlocking a radio why do they need diagnostics. He thought about it and skipped that. No problem. Then after waiting for just over an hour I'm told it didn't work and that sometimes it doesn't. Never mentioned that it might not work before. I would've bought an aftermarket radio if I knew it was a gamble. So now I still have no radio and am out $180. Unethical and disorganized is only way I can describe McGee Chevy with my experience. So if you want to be partially informed and get charged full price for failure, go to McGee Chevy. Thanks for nothing. More
I bought a truck at McGee Chevy about 1.5 years ago, which wasn’t a great experience when I had a finance rep laugh in my face when discussing financing. I brought my truck in on 6/15/21 for my last fre which wasn’t a great experience when I had a finance rep laugh in my face when discussing financing. I brought my truck in on 6/15/21 for my last free service. I suspected from the prior services that they did not rotate the tires as they claimed to do. I marked a tire and and checked after the service was done, and sure enough they did not rotate the tires. Not the biggest deal in the world but it makes me wonder what else is being done poorly or not even at all. I will never buy a vehicle nor have a vehicle serviced at McGee Chevy ever again due to lack of integrity. I’d also like to add that the conversations and language from the sales staff around customers is very unprofessional. The entire McGee dealership should go be trained by the Best Chevy dealership in Norwell. More
Beware of McGee. Unethical and unprofessional staff. If you question anything the manager will berate you, not a great way to treat customers. So glad red flags were raised before finalizing the sale. you question anything the manager will berate you, not a great way to treat customers. Stay far away. Looking to rip you off. Absolutely the worst experience for car repairs. Stay far away from. Will fix things that you never asked for, and charge far more than original quotes. I have been here several times for regular maintenance and repairs and not only do they severely overcharge, with labor at $125 an hour plus their abundance of fees, but dealing with them is a nightmare. My most recent experience - I took my Camaro in for an air-condition repair, and after getting a quote from another mechanic at 900$, they quoted $1,200. I decided that was okay considering I thought it would be done by a dealership. They replaced a part that was not needed, and the AC was still broken. I told them I don't want that, and I didn't want to pay for it ($1,300) and told them to put back the original one. They said “Sorry, we don't do that”. The repair ended up being $2,000: $600 in parts, and $1,400 in labor / fees. No amount of arguing / negotiating helped, and they refused to give me my car back unless we paid the full amount. I wish the story ended there… When I picked up the car, the front bumper had a huge white scrape that was definitely not done by myself. They said “Sorry, that wasn't us” and refused to fix it or take any sort of responsibility. We were forced to call the police and open a claim against them. They will take advantage of every situation. Please go somewhere else if you like your car and/or your money. More
incompetant service techs/reps/center Brought 05 corvette in due to "No Fob Detected" message on DIC. Prior to going to dealership I was able to start car according to owners manual instru Brought 05 corvette in due to "No Fob Detected" message on DIC. Prior to going to dealership I was able to start car according to owners manual instructions. Initially the issue started when the car would not start. I read owners manual and it states to insert key into area in glove box. I did that and car started. thought the key fob needed a new battery so I replaced it. Afterwards the car would no longer start with fob out or in glove box area. ordered new fob on line. received new fob and attempted to program it according to owners manual. at the end of the 30 minuets reprogram the DIC still read "No Fob Detected" and the car would not start. No Accessory features would work either. Disconnected battery for an hour, reconnected and still "No Fob Detected". attempted to jump car as I read in some forums that may work. Still no luck. with only the new fob in my pocket I sat in car and ignition light came on. would not start when press however it did start when I placed it in glove box area. Once running I brought it to McGee's. I explained the issue clearly to the service rep ( Cassie) and left a contact number. I was contacted by Cassie and told the Tech stated it was the alternator. $690.00 to replace. I was assured this was the issue after inquiring as it didn't seem right to me. I was told I'd be notified when done. Day 2 no notification, called them and told he was finishing up. waited an hour and called back and told it was done. I asked if it was starting properly and if both fobs were working. She reply yes. Go to McGee's to pick up car and paperwork is with cashier however I was at service rep desk. asked for key and fobs and was given only one fob and key. I asked where the other fob was and told it was no good . They told me it sent the car into "theft mode" . NO where in the owners manual is a reference to a "Theft Mode" (xx) I Took the key and fob and went to car and was unable to get in as fob did not work at all. Returned to service and they had tech come out to try. He was also unable to get in car. I instructed him to use manual door releases located in the hatch, which is assessable with the key. He did not know what I was talking about. he did find it and opened the door with the alarm going off. then he attempted to start car but no such luck. car would not start. ISSUE NOT RESOLVED. I was informed that the alternator repair will help avoid issues with it DOWN THE ROAD. Like I care down the road? $690.00 without tax for an issue that I might have DOWN THE ROAD? The current issue remains unfixed! Seriously! $690.00???? NO FIX!! So MR Tech states he look at it again but not charge me a diagnostic fee. WHAT? Didn't he already charge me that and xxxx me for a unneeded alternator. Car still there was now told that the door module needs replacing. $390.00. I again voice my concerns that it is the ignition not the door. I was told curtly that they have their corvette tech working on it and is sure this is the issue. I'm doubtful. I'll see tomorrow. Stay tuned. More

We contacted the sales person and have yet to receive the promised mats. Recently I brought my vehicle in for break service, i was quoted $500.00 on the phone after discussing the coupon I had received in the mail from the dealership. Upon arrival at the dealership I was given a estimate of between 700 -800 dollars. I was told I misunderstood the person on the phone. When i questioned the coupon i was told that was not able to be used due to my vehicle type. Additionally in reviewing the written estimate for the work i noticed the quote stated i had 'rusted lug nuts' that needed to be replaced. This left me feeling like i was being taken for a fool as well as extremely concerned as i had just had a complementary oil change which also lists a safety inspection as part of the process. All of these reasons leaves me feeling i can no longer trust this dealership as i was either sold a truck that was not safe or allowed to drive a vehicle after the last oil change that was not safe. I would not currently recommend them for purchase of vehicles or repair services. All said and done my local repair shop completed the break pad and rotar replacement for $680.00, the lug nuts were reported to have no issues. More

We bought it used a few months ago at McGee with 7 months and 20 something K miles left on the mfr warranty. I made a mid morning appointment to have it fixed. Knowing I was waiting, the service rep had someone look at it right away. In less than an hour, the problem was diagnosed though they didn't have the necessary parts in stock. the service rep let me know and we arranged another appointment the next week when the part would be in. All in all an excellent experience. More
