They did the repair at a cost of $781.91. 11/15/17, I took the truck back into the Merced dealership and they found rodent damage to the front senior harness. The repair were done at a cost of ($230.00) To prevent his from happening again I placed rodent poison in 4 different places and 4 rodent bait traps in my garage. I have not had a rodent problem since maintaining this practice. 10/18/19, I took my truck in because the check engine light came on. The heater in the DEF tank needed to be replaced. The service tech checked the air filter and in the air box found debris which they gave me in a plastic bag. The debris included: Over 15 pieces of paper from this dealership parts requisitions and able to read the date 7/11/17, repair order #229802, price $52.11, and other pieces Part of a gasket package with the name Rick Schisnewski, date 8/1917, IV# R0228436, part # 07318441 along with a piece of the gasket 4 black latex gloves, like the gloves used by this dealership mechanics Over 12 pieces of food wrapper from Carlās junior restaurant (one block from the dealership) I took the plastic bag with all this debris to the service manager. He was sure that an employee did not accidently leave this debris in the air box and that rodents must have done it. There was no damage at this point to the engine, just loss of power and lower MPG, since 11/15/17. In conclusion: This could not of happened in my garage due to the fact the parts requisition and black latex gloves came from their dealership. How all this debris got into my air box was either by human error or rodent but, the facts show it happened at the dealership. If rodents were responsible, that means they brought in all that debris into the air box of the truck on 11/02/17 or 11/15/17, while at the dealership when the truck was parked or being work on. This concept is hard to believe. Has the Merced dealership ever had a rodent problem before? The other option is that it happened by human error. This concept is hard to believe also. How it happened is in question, but it did happen at the dealership. I bring this to the attention of the Merced Chev Dealership and ask that they take responsibility , understand my concerns and accept the fact that it happened at the dealership. More
