Let me begin by saying that I have bought, sold and owned many cars and purchased through most every venue and Merlex ranks among the best. My experience started with an online consult and then a phone call many cars and purchased through most every venue and Merlex ranks among the best. My experience started with an online consult and then a phone call from a true car guy. Because of a situation with my employment, I couldn’t get to Arlington VA so Nik, and his team did everything imaginable to make the vehicle purchase a complete success. Having purchased from auction sites previously, I did due diligence and researched this vehicle from its manufacture in Germany through all its previous owners and service history and was willing to purchase sight unseen. I cannot tell you how appreciative I am/was and how well the process went, from them helping me get the lowest possible interest rate to getting a warranty, which on AMG vehicles can be near to impossible. I have driven the car for well over 1000 miles since purchase without issue or incident. The car is/was as described and still drives like new! I received all the paperwork and did wet signatures via FedEx, which they paid for. As with any used vehicle, there is/are reason(s) why previous owners trade or sale and in this instance it was because they wanted to upgrade to a newer vehicle. If I could give Merlex a higher rating I would because the sales staff are first and foremost car people and for me, that makes a huge difference because they were able to answer pertinent questions about the vehicle. The management team is top notch in the industry, and I am not in any way sugar coating this review, nor have I been paid or coerced. Take it from someone who knows about cars and dealerships, this place is a RECOMMEND! More
I purchased a vehicle on September 25, 2025, from MERLEX AUTO dealership. Although the sales contract is marked “as-is” they accepted responsibility to diagnose and perform necessary repairs after the sale. AUTO dealership. Although the sales contract is marked “as-is” they accepted responsibility to diagnose and perform necessary repairs after the sale. By undertaking this responsibility, you assumed an obligation to perform a competent diagnosis and repair. On September 29th the vehicle was turned over to MERLEX for repair! They failed to do so has caused me substantial loss and inconvenience. They allow a so called mechanic name Will to fix the truck which he damaged my car causing it over 11k dollars in damages. They had my truck for 3 weeks, once returned I had taken it to BMW AND IT WAS THERE FOR A MONTH, and still not running properly… and this is DEC 2025 this situation has caused me SO MUCH STRESS.I WILL NOT REST UNTIL MY SITUATION IS RESOLVED! I will be contacting FTC,BBB, Dealer board of VA AND I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE THAT HAVE GOTTEN SCAMMED BY MERLEX AUTO GROUP, GLOBAL AUTO TO REPORT THEM HELP OTHER CONSUMERS BY GETTING THEM SHUT DOWN OR TREAT US WITH DIGNITY AND RESPECT. Purchase was misrepresented, the contact was misrepresented giving me a warranty but no listing it on buyer’s order, cause damage to my vehicle intentionally. The trauma I’m going through PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE VERY UNETHICAL PPL! More
.. I guess I should have read the reviews. I bought what I thought was a good car only to be told that not only will it not pass MD inspection but it should not be on the road at all! I specifically ask Nik I thought was a good car only to be told that not only will it not pass MD inspection but it should not be on the road at all! I specifically ask Nik if it would pass, he said the only reason it would not pass is because of the tint. I picked the car up Saturday night, I told Michael it was a issue Monday we took the car to the BMW dealership that said the same thing the car is unsafe to drive. The wheel strut was cracked the piece behind it that keeps your strut from shooting up through the hood of your car was also broken. They said the amount of force to crack that is significant and there is no way just driving would have done that. We took the car back and was told we caused the damage even though we hadn't had the car a week. We didn't want anything back we wanted a safe car and we got nothing, they said we can trade the car in to them and go back through financing and lose the original deposit and have to pay another deposit... did I mention it hadn't been a week! Also the trade in would be significantly less then what they sold it for because it needs work, like really! The part for the car if you can find it is upwards of 3000 according to the dealer let alone the labor. After sitting there for hours we left because besides being blamed for the damage we were getting no where so we left only to get home and the check engine light comes on! So we have a unsafe car that we can't get through inspection and we wont be able to get registered. I wish I never went to this dealer! 16,000 piece of crap that I'm stuck trying to fix with no help from any of them. More
This review aims to critically examine a negative customer experience with Merlex Auto Group, focusing on the ethical and practical implications of the reported sales practices. The experience, as de customer experience with Merlex Auto Group, focusing on the ethical and practical implications of the reported sales practices. The experience, as described, raises concerns about transparency, inventory management, and overall professionalism. I would not recommend doing business with them. The core complaint centers around a significant discrepancy between advertised inventory and actual availability. The ad alleges that they were informed a specific vehicle (2010 Mercedes S Class 550, Black) was on the lot, prompting a considerable commute of an hour and a half. Upon arrival, the vehicle was reportedly not present, and an attempt was made to redirect the customer towards an alternative purchase. This situation immediately raises questions about the accuracy of Merlex Auto Group's online inventory listings and the potential for deceptive advertising. Furthermore, the ad highlights a breakdown in communication. Despite confirming the vehicle's availability via text message with a salesperson ("Grace", which was probably one of the male salesman) both in the days leading up to the visit and on the day of, no mention was made of the vehicle being unavailable. This lack of transparency suggests a failure in internal communication and a disregard for the customer's time and travel expenses. The fact that the vehicle is still listed on both the dealership's website and Carfax, despite its alleged unavailability, further exacerbates the issue. This discrepancy points to a potential systemic problem in inventory management, online listing updates, and falsified information. From an ethical standpoint, the alleged actions of Merlex Auto Group raise serious concerns. The potential for bait-and-switch tactics, coupled with a lack of transparent communication, erodes consumer trust and damages the dealership's reputation. Moreover, the failure to update online listings constitutes a form of misrepresentation, potentially violating consumer protection laws and honesty. This issue needs to be raised to upper management. I purchased a 2018 Cadillac that soon began experiencing mechanical issues. The vehicle stalled repeatedly, shut off on its own, and became undrivable. When the bank contacted me to check the status of the mechanical issues. The vehicle stalled repeatedly, shut off on its own, and became undrivable. When the bank contacted me to check the status of the vehicle, I explained the situation. As a result, the bank declined the deal, citing the dealership's refusal to make the necessary repairs. The dealership took the car back but did not issue a refund. They still owe me $3,000. When I attempted to follow up, the dealership threatened to call the police if I continued contacting them. More

My sales representative went above and beyond to make my deal go smoothly. However, I did not receive a copy of my sales agreement, and none of my paystubs, driver's license, proof of insurance, or proof of deal go smoothly. However, I did not receive a copy of my sales agreement, and none of my paystubs, driver's license, proof of insurance, or proof of residence were sent to the loan company. So I had to send it all myself. The manager called me yesterday and promised to send the car paperwork, but never sent anything. I am very disappointed; this could have forced me to return the car, and that's not good business. More
