See additional info as of late this afternoon ~So we See additional info as of late this afternoon ~ So we live and learn, my 80 year old Dad loves the new 2020 Tacoma that he traded his 2015 in for, th See additional info as of late this afternoon ~ So we live and learn, my 80 year old Dad loves the new 2020 Tacoma that he traded his 2015 in for, the disappointing part of it all comes down to two things, always check on your phone and screenshot said vehicle with listed price, as I did later in the game, The online price shows clearly they had it listed for 27,473 , however the listed price my dad paid before the ADDED closing cost was 29,183, he actually paid 1221 too much on it , when I brought it to Trent's attention the next morning, he said to me I apologise he didn't know there was a discount on that vehicle, otherwise he would had told us, I also wished for my dad's sake, that if Trent honestly didn't know , despite he pulled up all available Tacoma's on line on the laptop , why he didn't see it then, but again none the less why didn't the next person the financial guy Mr. Carter tell us, oh by the way it's listed at this price, but dealerships simply aren't going to tell you unless your already ahead of the game !, It wasn't ever mentioned, another thing is we tossed and turned all night thinking about the ADDED maintenance packages, that is where it gets costly , the added 6,640 , that's basically what my Dad is paying for and financing , that I don't feel it was really needed, there is no cooling off period written plain as day on the contract, , he basically purchased lifetime care and maintenance on the lifetime of the truck , I did talk to Mr Carter the following morning about whether or not my dad could change that part, as he truly didn't want to finance anything, with the 20K trade in and the 5K down payment at the start, however that clause is in top of the contract in bold for a reason , Mr Carter said they already got paid that night for the sale, it's a done deal ,& we were doing the right thing by having it, so we live and learn , my dad has no problem with the payment itself, that's very affordable, t's just the fact that he's stuck with a maintenance care package almost 7K that could had been avoided by declining from the start , it will either pay for itself having it in the long run or it clearly will not , only time will tell With Cam's truck in Charlotte NC we avoided that entire ordeal, we bought the truck directly from our bank to them , took the check up there for the walk out door price and we were done, that was BRILLIANT IDEA & SAVES THOUSANDS, unfortunately with my 80 yr old Dad and being here local we got played by the finance director who said you need all this so he's paid well in advance for ANYTHING that goes wrong with the new truck ,for the life of the truck even past the extended warranty,etc, I just don't know that 7K literally is worth all that for 80 yr old man , who probably only has min of 3 yrs to live if that ! He's the soul owner and only driver to it as well, a lifetime is not like a lifetime of a 30yr old, sadly he will not live long enough to recover his dollars , the only good thing I can possibly say about it is it's transferable and whoever ends up owning it after him will see and get the full benefits of it ! End ~ Around 7pm on today's date Sept 9th, my Dad and I received a call from Mr Carter & Trenton on speaker phone who both were apologetic in seeing my review and discernment of this whole ordeal, Mr Carter said that in 12 months to come see him, call em, and the extra vehicle maintenance package plan would be dropped and we would be reimbursed the remaining balance, I asked ok, that sounds great you can cancel this in 12 months, but IF YOU CAN CANCEL THIS EXTRA CARE MAINTENANCE PACKAGE IN TWELVE MONTHS, WHY CANT YOU DO THIS SAY 24, 48, 72 HOURS OF US LEAVING THE LOT ???? We couldn't really get a complete understanding of this point, Mr Carter also said that if anyone else contact's you , please let em know we spoke and come to an agreement, Well we are glad he's willing to end this 12 months from now, but why is my Dad having to pay half on something he doesn't really want , I appreciate the call from Mr Carter in attempts to rectify this, however my 80yr old Dad and I are not 100 percent okay with this , it doesn't feel right !!! More
