My check engine light came on Wednesday, June 2 and I immediately went on line to schedule an appointment at approximately 10:55 am. I was given 2 available choices - 11:15 or 11:45. I took the 11:45 and stated that I needed the shuttle to take me home (I received both a text and email confirmation) and arrived on time. I was told you had no record of my appointment and would not be able to look at it until Thursday morning. I was asked if I could leave it overnight to which I reluctantly agreed. I was told I would receive a call in the morning with the findings. On Thursday at 12:15 pm I called and asked to speak to my advisor and was told he was at lunch, would be back shortly and would call me when he returned. At around 12:45 I received a text that you were putting prices together and would receive a call when that was done. At around 1:30 I received the call with the bad news and said that I needed to talk to my wife before committing to all the work. My wife and I both agreed it was well above our budget and I called back in and committed to the timing chains and fuel pump, but not the serpentine belt or cam shaft solenoid covers. I was told you would try and get the car back to me by Friday, but it might not be until Monday. I asked if there was any GM advisories that would reduce the costs (as there are known problems with the 2.4L EcoTech's timing chains) and was told there were none and that I was only eligible for the 5% senior discount. I asked to speak to the service manager Tim and was told he was gone for the day but would be available Friday after 7:30 am. I called back on Friday, added the replacement of the serpentine belt and talked to Tim. He explained that there was nothing more he could offer me, but maybe GM would do so. I told him that I had already contacted GM (case number 9-6758088496) but had not heard back from them. I also told Tim that we were planning on buying 2 more vehicles this year. We have been loyal GM customers all our lives and that my father-in-law used to be a GM dealer. However, with what has transpired we are questioning GM's quality and backing of it's product on future purchases. More
Great dealer to get service done on GM vehicles. I had an issue with my wipers in which they inspected for me and got a new pair of wipers. Always great and friendly service here.
