My concern is regarding the final cost of my recent service appointment and what I believe was misleading communication surrounding the pricing. The initial quote I received for the repair was $1,329. service appointment and what I believe was misleading communication surrounding the pricing. The initial quote I received for the repair was $1,329.87. Due to the cost, I decided to seek a second opinion. When I came in to pick up my vehicle for that purpose, I was asked why, and I explained that the expense was my primary concern. Kody acknowledged this—especially with the holidays approaching—and informed me that the repair cost could be reduced to $1,100. I advised the staff that I still intended to obtain another opinion and would follow up. I subsequently received a quote from another mechanic for $800 out the door. However, since I had already paid a $250 diagnostic fee at your dealership and was told that this amount would be applied toward the repair, I ultimately chose to proceed with the dealership. I scheduled the service appointment and confirmed with Julian the morning of the repair that the total cost would be $1,100. He confirmed that this was correct. After working overnight and being awake since midnight, I arrived for my appointment directly after my shift. I requested a shuttle to return home and was asked to wait in the waiting area. After approximately 45 minutes, I checked back in for an estimated shuttle time and was told my vehicle was nearly finished, so I continued waiting for another 30 minutes. While I understand delays happen, the extended wait was difficult given my lack of rest. I initially had not intended to wait for my vehicle there. When I was called to settle my bill, I was told the total was $1,122.37. I then asked whether the $250 diagnostic fee had been applied. At that point, I was informed that the $1,100 did not include the diagnostic fee, meaning my total cost remained $1,329.87. Adding to the confusion, the final receipt shows parts and labor totaling $1,084.57 before tax, but it does not reflect the $250 diagnostic fee being applied anywhere toward that total. This further contributed to my understanding that $1,100 was intended to be the full and final cost of the repair. This situation was extremely disappointing and felt misleading. Based on my conversations with staff, the acknowledgment of my financial concerns during the holiday season, and the documentation provided, I was led to believe that $1,100 represented the total cost. Had I known the final amount would still be $1,329.87, I would have proceeded with the other mechanic and saved approximately $300. I believe this situation could have been avoided with clearer and more transparent communication. More
