READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! ! This dealership has restored my faith (or lack thereof) in dealerships. As someone who has been turned off to dealerships and not used one in 10+ ! This dealership has restored my faith (or lack thereof) in dealerships. As someone who has been turned off to dealerships and not used one in 10+ years, I took a leap of faith, and it cost me $500. At least that’s all it cost me. The truck in question is a 2016 F150 with 91,000 miles on it, stock ID: J812 VIN: 1FTEW1EF0GFA75408. Now, this dealer is 4 hours away from my house, and I had to travel to see it. The dealer asked me to place a “hold deposit” on the truck so it would still be there when I got there, which did alleviate my concern. I have since learned however that while this is a somewhat common practice it’s considered shady because most dealerships won’t hesitate to sell the vehicle out from under you and just return the funds to you. They will likely keep the money if you decide not to buy, padding their bottom line. So, I won’t make that mistake again. After arriving at the dealership I had to wait a bit for my salesman as he was helping another customer. Then, once he was available he gave me the keys to the truck. Once I had completed my inspection/drive I came to several conclusions; - The codes had been recently cleared - The transfer case had a MINOR leak - The truck vibrates between 75-85mph - The leadframe likely needs replaced - There is still an open recall for the PCM flash that protects the truck from rapid downshift from 6th to 2nd upon leadframe failure. - There are 2 codes locked in: U0452-82 and U0121-00 - The dealer did SOMETHING with the pano sun room, maybe replaced? Not sure. When I asked the dealership how flexible they were on price they informed me they were a “No-Haggle” dealership. Something that until that point had not been disclosed and I cannot find on their website. It is also just a low accountability move by dealers, in my opinion, it’s the “easy button.” Either way, at that point I told the salesman that I guess I would go home them. He asked what issues I had with the truck, I gave him the list above and he wrote down what seemed like all of the issues. He said he’d get a mechanic to take a look and have a chat with me. After a long period of waiting and just being left in the dark on what was going on, I texted the salesman that I was going to head home. At this point it was almost 2pm and I had another 4 hour drive ahead of me. He caught up with me, had the mechanic speak with me, and this is where it went even more sideways. The mechanic assured me what I was seeing on the transfer case was not fluid leaking from the transfer case, just “road debris.” Personally, I’d like to know how “road debris” sticks to the transfer case, but not the whole thing just around the mating surfaces of the casing halves. He then, assured me the two codes (which could indicate a CAN bus communication issue, or a blown fuse) were just issues with the PCM and it needed flashed at a ford dealership. When I tried to argue this he just assured me his code reader was more expensive than mine. When I asked about the vibration, that I was very specific about, I was told that he “got it up to 70mph” and there was no vibration. They wouldn’t test drive it faster than that because the local speed limit. Guess if you buy this truck you should just stick to 70mph or below. All my other concerns were largely ignored. When I got home and cooled off, I reached out and asked if since the experience was what it was, they would refund the deposit as a show of good faith, which they declined. Heed the warnings of the negative reviews. I’d not recommend this place to friends or family, I suppose if you’re local it may be ok, but if you’re traveling to this dealership from a ways away…just don’t. Don’t waste your time or money. They’re sneaky, disingenuous, condescending, they will absolutely sell you a truck with problems. If you try to ask about the problems, they will just try to convince you they’re not problems. More
Mountain Top Motors Company advertised and sold me a used truck for over $38,000 that was both unsafe and unroadworthy. The truck has reportedly in excellent condition with only 51,000miles, one owner. The truck for over $38,000 that was both unsafe and unroadworthy. The truck has reportedly in excellent condition with only 51,000miles, one owner. The need for multiple repairs was not disclosed to me, the buyer. The airbag and abs systems both were unroadworthy. Other repairs were allegedly made by MTM Co. I, the buyer, was never able to take delivery of the vehicle even though I paid MTM Co in full. After significant negotiations with the dealer, they eventually agreed to a fully refund the complete purchase price within 5 days once I returned the title. The 2007 GMC Sierra Classic 3500 LBZ SLT 4x4 is now listed for sale again and the dealer has only refunded me $500. The dealer insists their bank will not allow them to wire transfer the full purchase price back to me as they had promised. As of today 3/3/26 they dealer has failed to even mail a refund check. I originally deposited money for the truck on 1/28/26, then paid the balance in full on 2/6/26 by a wire transfer. Later, at the dealer's demand for me to receive a refund I returned the title back to the them on 2/24/26. As of 3/3/26 I have no truck and no full refund of over $38,000. The dealer promised my full refund within 5 days of me returning the truck title. I did so. I have no truck, no title to said truck and no complete refund. The dealer, MTM Co. has currently listed the truck for sale at cars.com again. The truck is listed as a 1 owner vehicle. As far as I can tell, original owner, the auction house MTM Co purchased truck from, Mountain Top Motor Co, myself (the foolish buyer), then back to MTM Co. as all owners listed/noted on back of MO title. Does not sound like one owner to me. More
Worst place ever. Bought my wife a 2014 Buick Encore. Had it for less than 30 days and the AC went out. Of course it wasn't covered under the 30 limited warranty. I strongly advise avoiding this dealership - our vehicle purchase on 2/14/25 has been a nightmare from day 1. - Nearly TWO full months after purchasing this vehicle, Mountaintop Motors has still not prov purchase on 2/14/25 has been a nightmare from day 1. - Nearly TWO full months after purchasing this vehicle, Mountaintop Motors has still not provided me with the title, which is fully illegal under the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act. Initial phone calls to the dealership on this issue resulted in being told that Mountaintop never received the title from Carmax and they could not provide me with an ETA on resolution. Again, Mountaintop selling a vehicle before they possessed the title reflecting Mountaintop as the vehicle owner is fraudulent and is in fact a felony in multiple states. Repeated phone calls requesting to speak to the General Manager were not returned, the receptionist even tried to state that she could not put me on hold to wait for the GM to be available because the "phone systems wouldn't let a call be placed on hold." After finally connecting with the GM, his response to me was claiming that this happens all the time and that the state of Missouri is at fault for not sending them the title. This issue has yet to be resolved, and as a result I am forced to take legal action in order to simply title my vehicle. -Three warning lights (traction control, ABS, and check engine) came on less 30 minutes after driving off the lot. Nearly two months later, I have yet to be reimbursed for the cost of fixing the issue as was promised. Reading through reviews on Better Business Bureau, autodealers.com, etc, it's clear that many buyers have had issues with the vehicles purchased from Mountaintop Motors. I strongly suspect that they are not inspecting the vehicles as claimed. The issue for my vehicle was ultimately a simple fix that would have been identified in a standard inspection. -The $500 deposit for holding the vehicle was not applied to the purchase price of the vehicle as I was told. It took well over a month of repeated followups with salesman Brandon before the deposit was credited back. Simply ridiculous. This dealership promotes attractive prices and a "no haggle" approach, but they are wildly incompetent and clearly inept at following basic regulations as it relates to selling vehicles. More

DO NOT BUY HERE! ! READ MY TESTIMONY AND SEE WHAT YOUR FUTURE WILL BE!! They will sell you a junk car and ghost you when you have a problem. Bought my 2010 GMC Y ! READ MY TESTIMONY AND SEE WHAT YOUR FUTURE WILL BE!! They will sell you a junk car and ghost you when you have a problem. Bought my 2010 GMC Yukon XL in June of 2024. Bought it with 167k miles on it. I knew that part of buying a car with that many miles was that things will go out and that will be on me to repair, I have no problem with that. I felt comfortable with their 102 point inspection in which it passed with flying colors and decided to bring it home. After only a month of ownership, I went to get a safety inspection done (that they "forgot" to do, and said they were going to mail me a check to reimburse me, still waiting on that check 6 months later) and the ball joints were so bad that the guy told me that they were not checked at Mountain Top Motors. I called Mountain Top and they agreed to replace the ball joints, but I had to do a total of 2 hours of driving to take it there and back with no reimbursement for their "mistake." By this time i was suspicious though. If they missed the ball joints, what else did they miss? 3 months later and only 3500 miles, the transmission starts shifting weird. I take it to a nearby GMC dealership and they took a sample of transmission fluid and the certified technician said the fluid was "extremely burnt and full of metal." I asked him if that damage can happen in 3500 miles and he said absolutely not. So I went back to the inspection paperwork from Mountain Top and "transmission fluid level and condition" was a pass. Look at that, another "mistake", no reason why it shouldn't be handled just like the ball joints, they make a mistake, they make it right. Nope, called them and they said "well you test drove it right? well there's nothing we can do then" I then drafted and sent an email to the owner, Jon Lang. I received a response from the general manager, Kyle Wohlschaeger, saying the same thing as before, "well you test drove it." After reaching out to a lawyer and explaining the circumstances, he advised that we do have a case against Mountain Top but suggested we give them one last opportunity to make things right and told us to send a more formal letter via certified mail. This letter was received and signed for at Mountain Top on 11/27/24. I gave them a couple of weeks to respond and an email was sent to try to get a response. Both the letter and the email had been received and ignored. I filed a complaint with the Missouri Attorney General's Office and they have reached out to Mountain Top and are yet to hear back. I'm tired of messing around, see ya in court. Mountain Top states on their website, "even if you are choosing an older 90's model 4x4 you can be rest assured that it’s in great shape. Mountain Top stands behind their sales as well, if there is an issue after the sale Mountain Top will work with the customer. Not leave them high and dry." Well, Mountain Top, the ball is in your court, work with your customers. Brandon Menke was my salesman. He was alright. Had to call and text him a million times because he would stop responding. When I went to pick up my car I texted him hours before and told him what time I was coming and he said that he'd be there, when I showed up they had taken a dealership car to go get McDonalds and had to sit in the lobby for at least 20 minutes. That shows you how valued you are as a customer. I'd give him 3 stars. More

Furthermore, they were very professional and accommodating. I decided to trade it in at another dealer in December, 2024. Unfortunately, the Carfax report missed an incident which affected the trade in value ( It still was missing in Dec). Therefore, I reached out to their new general manager, Walker, to discuss. Within 12 hours (overnight) he notified me that the dealer would be willing to purchase the vehicle back. Furthermore, they may me more than fair offer. I could not believe the promptness and fairness. Moreover, they genuinely wanted to make things right. In the end, I went to the dealership, met with Walker, and completed the transaction within 10 minutes. Well done Mountain Top! I will be considering them for all future automotive transactions. I bought an '08 Tahoe hybrid that was delivered to my house and the tow truck driver watched as the truck stalled out. I had notified Casey the salesman who sold me this hunk of junk and was told basical house and the tow truck driver watched as the truck stalled out. I had notified Casey the salesman who sold me this hunk of junk and was told basically there was nothing they could do. 14,000 I paid for three mechanics two dealerships to try and find out what was wrong with it. I explained to my salesman that I was in a car accident less than a month prior and that I have children so I was in need of a reliable vehicle. He took my vulnerability and ran with it. It's been a year and a half and been to three different mechanics nobody can seem to help! It honestly breaks my heart that someone would take advantage of someone else's situation. You have no idea how much anxiety this vehicle has given me. More
