Edward W. Napleton opened his first automotive business in 1931 on Chicago's South Side. With a $700 loan, a strong work ethic and a belief in common courtesy, he opened the Napleton Buick Service Station. Francis Napleton, Edward's son, was by his side to help foster the growth of the young business in its early years.
Napleton's first dealership was a DeSoto franchise. When that brand was discontinued with little warning, Napleton quickly aligned itself with another Chrysler nameplate, Plymouth, eventually being awarded several additional franchises. Edward and Francis both believed in hard work and exceptional customer service, values that they passed down to the next generation of Napletons. Five of Francis' eight children have worked in the auto business their entire lives.
Edward F. (Ed) Napleton, Francis' son, is a third-generation auto dealer. He began his career as a kid sweeping the floors at the dealership owned by his father and grandfather. He moved up the ranks, serving as a technician, then in sales and finance, and eventually as a general manager. At just 23 years of age, Ed became the youngest car dealer in the United States when he was awarded a Pontiac dealership in Blue Island, Illinois.
Today, the Ed Napleton Family operates more than 79 franchises in eight states. Taking pride in helping each community they live and work in, the Napleton Family name has become synonymous with excellence and teamwork. What started as a small family-owned business has blossomed into one of the most forward-thinking dealership groups in the country. Four of Ed's five children have proudly joined him in pursuing the family business and have a hand in the company's day-to-day operations.

Please don't waste your time with this dealership. We shopped online, completed the finance information in advance and submitted all necessary documentation three days before we planned to drive to the d shopped online, completed the finance information in advance and submitted all necessary documentation three days before we planned to drive to the dealership. They called and texted several times a day before the scheduled appointment, so often that we had to tell them to stop, or we would take our business elsewhere. Boy do I wish we had! We arrive at the dealership to find that the car was NOT there. They claimed they had loaned it out the day before?? We told them the only reason we had driven to this dealership was because we wanted that specific vehicle and we were not interested in something else. They suddenly decided that they could go get the car we wanted, but there might be "a few" miles on it. We agreed to go ahead and start the purchase process, at a discounted price due to the 150 mile on the car. We then spent the next SIX hours with the salesman, the warranty sales man and the finance salesman, all trying their best to bump the price. After threatening to leave again, we finally completed the purchase process, only to be told we would have to put down a $150.00 "deposit" because we did not have the title for our trade-in with us. We added that deposit to our credit card and finally left the dealership at 11:30 PM. My husband returned the next day with the title and was told that they couldn't credit our card, that a check would be issued and mailed to us. Three MONTHS later, we're STILL fighting them for the return of that $150.00. More
