Deceptive Fees and Misleading Advertising – Buyers Beware I recently tried to purchase a used 2024 Nissan Titan from this dealership and was shocked by the level of deception in their pricing pract Beware I recently tried to purchase a used 2024 Nissan Titan from this dealership and was shocked by the level of deception in their pricing practices. The truck was advertised on Edmunds at $37,517 with no disclaimers or fine print about additional dealer fees. However, when I received the written proposal, the price suddenly jumped to over $44,000 after they added a $1,997 “CPO Fee,” $1,298 “Documentation Fee,” $559.55 “Electronic Filing Fee,” and $189 “PTA Fee.” These are junk fees that Florida law (specifically Fla. Stat. §501.976) says must be included in the advertised price. Dealers can only add tax, title, and registration afterward — not arbitrary internal fees. When I confronted the sales manager about it, he dismissed the issue and told me that “every dealership in Florida has fees,” then tried to brush me off by saying the vehicle was “out of my budget.” Even worse, the dealership admitted that the only disclosure about these charges is in small hidden print on their website, while they continue advertising the same vehicle on third-party platforms like Edmunds with no fee disclosure whatsoever. That is exactly the kind of deceptive advertising Florida’s consumer protection laws were written to prevent. I’ve since filed a report with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and the Florida Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division so they can review this dealer’s practices. If you’re considering buying from this dealership, get every number in writing before wasting your time. The advertised price is not what you’ll actually pay, and the so-called “CPO” and “documentation” fees are just markups disguised as official charges. More
