Tried to take advantage of my nephew! My nephew negotiated a deal for a used car and needed to finance it. He did not have a good credit so asked me to co-sign, which I agreed to do. The dealer had my financial info (credit rating of 730) and still tried to charge him 13.6% and a $1195 fee to guarantee the debt. I asked my friends at Ally Financial what rate was a reasonable rate in this case - they said 4 to 6%. I bought the car because he liked it, but this was an unscrupulous act on their part to try to take advantage of him! More
