Poor sales experience, failure to abide by sales agreement I purchased a used 2018 car from Boch Chevrolet on June 29, 2018. I initially considered this to be a fair and reasonable negotiation and easy purcha I purchased a used 2018 car from Boch Chevrolet on June 29, 2018. I initially considered this to be a fair and reasonable negotiation and easy purchase, all handled in a few hours. The sales agreement included Boch performing a 4-wheel alignment prior to delivery and providing the results that day. The car was delivered on July 5, 2018 with no paperwork for the alignment. Being that I still have the “We Owe You” document from Boch showing that they owed me the alignment, I was not overly concerned. It took almost two days for the salesman, Sam Peterkin, to respond that he was “working on getting the results”. For those that don’t know, these are electronic records which are not difficult to track down (if the actually exist). On July 7, I received a vmail from the used car sales manager, Kevin Crosby, saying that he is looking into this also. Meanwhile, I receive a vmail from Sam Peterkin saying, sorry he has been too busy to look into it. Really? Too busy. You weren’t too busy when you agreed to do the alignment before the $61,000 sale. It only gets worse from there. Kevin Crosby tells me the service manager is still looking for a copy of the alignment (again this is an electronic record). Then he tells me the service manager is on vacation (Hmmm which is it?). Then I heard that I didn’t get a promised response from Kevin Crosby because he was away on vacation at the same time he’s telling me he would be meeting with his general manager. Kevin finally admitted that that the alignment was not done. At this point, I suggested to him that Boch pay for my local dealer to do the alignment (I live 2 hrs from the Boch dealership) and that they should also pay for an oil change for all the inconvenience and poor treatment. Kevin agreed this was a reasonable request. He would have the GM approve it and get back to me, Again, no response. At this point, I figure I have been as patient as anyone can possibly be and decide to contact the GM, Jonathan Goldberg. The General Manager of a dealership would not tolerate this poor treatment of customers and failure to do what his dealership promises -right? The GM would want to do everything within reason to correct this situation especially considering how easy the fix could be – right? Wrong. After a couple of discussions, Jonathan Goldberg agrees to pay my local dealer to do the alignment and oil change but when they called him to confirm this – no answer, no return call to the dealership or to myself. No response at all. For the record, I have transcripts and records of all interactions I've had with Boch since the day of the purchase. I’m a reasonable and fair person that simply wanted to be treated fairly. I have since paid for the alignment out of my pocket. It was necessary. My dealership was actually able to provide me with a copy of the results. Bottom line: The owners of Boch Chevrolet dealership should be embarrassed to have employees that treat customers like this and for anyone considering buying a car from Boch, I strongly suggest you shop elsewhere. One of the best experiences I've had at a dealership. I came down to Boch hoping for a stress-free, easy experience and I was not disappointed. Pet understood what I was looking for, was quick to answer questions and is a salesperson I will recommend to anyone, he never pressured me and that really went a long way. The sales manager came over as well and was very pleasant to deal with and again, was not pushy. Everyone here that I dealt with made me feel like I was a returning customer and were very welcoming. Worst Service Dept, BEWARE! I purchased a Chevy Equinox from this dealership in 2015 and had a great experience. I recently started to have problems in December 2017 when a part I purchased a Chevy Equinox from this dealership in 2015 and had a great experience. I recently started to have problems in December 2017 when a part that controlled the oil getting to the engine wasn't working causing my car to stall. The service department fixed the issue which apparently was covered under a recall, so I didn't have to pay anything. They did a terrible job explaining the problem and what was actually fixed. I didn't look into it too much because I trusted them. Then 7 months later my car started doing the same thing again, so I brought it back and explained I thought it was the same problem that was fixed in December. The customer service rep said it was a different problem and it wasn't covered under the recall. I paid $400 to get it fixed. When I got it home, I compared the paperwork from the fix in Dec to the latest fix and low and behold it was the same problem! This time it was a part controlling the oil going out instead of coming in, but should still have been covered under the recall. I called the manager and they agreed it should have been covered and they would reimburse me as well as give us a car detail for the inconvenience...this is when the customer service went completely downhill. A week went by and never got the credit, so called back and left messages and no one called back. I called the service director and left a message and it was a struggle to get him on the phone. I just wanted our credit back. I finally talked to Brian, the service director, and he was completely rude and couldn't get me off the phone fast enough. He promised the credit would be processed that day, but of course it wasn't. Another week goes by, so I call back and leave messages and finally call the GM and leave a message. It's been 3 weeks now and no credit! I finally get a call back, not from Brian the service director but from the service manager who is new and took care of the credit over the phone. I never got that car detail I was promised though. Worst customer service I've ever experienced, it's sad I had to fight to get our credit when I should have never been charged in the first place. I'll never bring my car back to get serviced here ever again and I warn anyone else who does to please look at your paperwork carefully! More
