I went to Nutley Kia on a Thursday night after work around 6:30pm. I met Will and Tony as soon as I walked in and they were both personable and friendly. I told them up front what my budget was and what I was interested in, and the first car I test drove with Will I took home! I’m now leasing a brand new Kia Sportage. There were no hard negotiating games or intimidation tactics — even as a young woman navigating a lease end alone by herself. I never once felt pressured or uncomfortable throughout the whole process. Even when I met Kyle in Finance (usually the most grueling part of the whole ordeal) he was friendly, pleasant and efficient while still taking time to explain every piece of paper in front of me. I’m so happy with this process overall and grateful to the three gentlemen who helped make this a quick and easy transaction! I was in and out in about 2 maybe 2.5 hours max. Amazing! Trying To Force Coverages Not Required By Law Needed a car & thought I would try this location out. Dealing with Carmen (BDC) was a pleasure & they tried to work out a deal for me. Only problem wa Needed a car & thought I would try this location out. Dealing with Carmen (BDC) was a pleasure & they tried to work out a deal for me. Only problem was, that dealing with Kyle (Sales Manager), he instructed me that in order to get a loan, I "HAD" to get their GAP Coverage & Extended Warranty or there was no deal. That was approximately $2,400 more (And $35+ a month in payments) than the actual cost of the car, taxes, motor vehicle fees & down payment. When I told him that by law, GAP Coverage & Extended Warranties cannot be forced onto a consumer, he proceeded to tell me that is how the dealership does their deals & I could not opt out. Sorry to say, that this practice completely turned me off to this dealership & I will be sure to let others know about this. I will also be contacting NJ Consumer Affairs, NJ BBB & KIA Home Office about this location & business practices. Kyle completely turned a possible deal into one that wasn't. Buyer Beware & know your rights. A dealership or a bank, cannot mandate GAP Coverage or an Extended Warranty from the dealership as a condition of the loan. Many insurance companies provide GAP Coverage if desired for a much lower price. Don't be taken in. More

I had previously went to a Kia dealership in queens and had such a stereo typical negative experience. However, my experience at Nutley Auto Kia was night and day. I was welcomed by Scott warmly at the lot of the dealership and immediately I felt different. Scott was genuine and is passionate about cars. He made myself and my 2 best friends feel comfortable and right at home. I came prepared with everything that I needed and they had exactly what I wanted in stock. Tony was of great help in ensuring that I qualified for the best offer and rates possible. I cannot thank him and Scott enough for ensuring that I had such a seamless, wonderful experience. Thank you to Ed as well who shared many wonderful things about himself with me while we got all the paperwork sorted. PS. Did I mention that this was my first time buying a car?
