TOTAL CHEATS, LIARS, AND A RIP-OFF I had my Honda TOTAL CHEATS, LIARS, AND A RIP-OFF I had my Honda Civic taken to this dealership for replaciong brake pads. Even though I had an appointment, I was TOTAL CHEATS, LIARS, AND A RIP-OFF I had my Honda Civic taken to this dealership for replaciong brake pads. Even though I had an appointment, I was made to wait at least 45 minutes before a service manager could find time. I explained what I needed done, quite simple - replace brake pads. After the car had been in the dealership for about five hours, I get a call from my service manager, who says that there are more serious problems, with my brakes than just the brake pads. So he works up an estimate for $800 to replace brake discs, pads, and some sort brake pin etc. I am not an expert on Cars by any means, so I checked around over the phone and on the internet to find out if the estimate is reliable and it turned out that it weas around the ball park, of course with a 100% dealer mark up. But which dealer does not mark up the3 prices and overcharge labor. Further, I had to get my state inspection done within the week, so I authorized the amount. After my authorization, towards the evening, the service manager calls me and says he has to keep the car overnight. Then, next day he calls and tacks a few more problems to the list and claims that if I don't fix those new problems then they won't be able to replace brake discs etc. Finally over the next three days (which in itself is ridiculous to keep a car for 3 days) I end up authorizing a few more hours in labor etc to a total bill of $1200. Now comes the real bull shit - on the fourth day when I go to pick up the car my bill is at $2600. When I asked for details the service manager said that he had to do this and that and since he was not able to contact me (which is a lie, I did not see any missed calls from him) and since I had authorized the work on brake discs he just had to do all other extra work/ part replacements that had to be done in order to fix brake discs and the original work order. Anyways, he gives me the standard, if I don't pay then they have thr right to keep the car and take legal action. When I said I wanted to talk with a lawyer before I paid for it, he said "feel free to sue, you will just end up paying more for lawyers." Given the cost of lawyers, I decided to pay for it and write it off as bad luck. But problems don't end here - I take my car for inspection and it does not pass it - the reason being "need new brake pads." Also ovet the next two days the car strated to ,make all kinds of noises whenever I applied my brakes. So at this point I am furious and I go back to Tysons Honda. But the answer I get after having the dealerships main serivice manager look at my car is - "everything is fine with the car, maybe I need to take my car to a different inspection station," and he jokingly added, "may be the inspection station is just lying to me." What can I do with such dishonest cheats. I got angry but what can I do other than go to a lawyer and spend more money and time and effort. Anyways, I tried calling Honda to register a complaint, and they did take the complaint and saids they will look into it etc...but you kno how it goes...nothing happens. Anyways, I go to Bill page Honda, and they review the work of Tysons and said openly that I had been ripped off - More damage had been done to my brakes and I had to spend another $750 to get everything back to order. But even to this day everythime I brake it squeaks - reminding me never ever to go to Tysons Honda again. Anyways, never ever step into TYSONS HONDA SERVICE CENTER. Bill Page Hond is probably much better in terms of integrity, but I will not vouch for the quality of their service or their technicians. At least they will be honest. More
Honda of Tysons Corner was previously known as Rosenthal Honda. I bought my used S2000 from them when they were known as Rosenthal. The salesman tricked me by showing me a fake kbb report on the cars valu Honda. I bought my used S2000 from them when they were known as Rosenthal. The salesman tricked me by showing me a fake kbb report on the cars value. After purchasing the vehicle, I tried to duplicate the value on kbb.com at home. No matter what mileage, options and condition I chose, the value was consistently $2000 lower than the kbb report the salesman showed me. Only thing I can think of is he used a California zip or he photoshopped the printout. I have been to Rosenthal/Tysons for service on more than one occasion. EVERY time I have been unsatisfied with the quality of service. They leave greasy fingerprints all over my exterior and on the door handle all but one time. I took it in for a complaint about 1st-2nd gear grind. They treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about and said they couldn't recreate it. After researching it at home, I learned it is a very common problem with S2000s and Honda had released a service bulletin about it. The fact that this dealership never heard of this problem indicates to me that they do not know about S2000s or how to check for service bulletins. I recently took me car to Tysons because my rear brakes were smoking. (I just had new pads installed on all four wheels about a month ago. They were aftermarket OEM replacements from Advance Auto Parts and were installed by a third party garage.) But, when I picked my car up, they informed me that the brakes were smoking because I was using the wrong pads. This is not true. I asked them why aftermarket pads (not cheap ones BTW) would cause the rear brakes to stick and burn up. They said they don't know what caused it. The technician even admitted that the used brakes looked new and were barely worn. There was nothing to justify them taking my almost new brakes off and putting there own on there--just to charge me $220!!! My rear brakes still drag and are still hot so they never fixed it. I will NEVER take my car back to Tysons Honda and will be taking my car to someone who knows how to work on S2000s from now on. This are the two main problems I've had with this dealership. I've heard many complaints and horror stories about this dealership--from forgetting to put parts back on, to taking a customer's car for a joy ride. Bottom line is this place is full of monkeys that do not know how to properly work on cars. I guess changing their name didn't make a difference on their quality of work. DO BUSINESS WITH TYSONS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! More
