Dear Ms. Jacqueline Feenster: Before I reply publicly to your review I wanted to offer you this letter to see if I could better help you understand the circumstances. I reviewed the notes from your deal and during the initial credit interview, Mr. Rasulzad noted that there were issues with your credit that would prove challenging for any dealer to obtain the proper financing to suit your needs. He told me that you were aware of these challenges, especially in these current economic times and that you understood that you would probably have to return to complete additional or corrected paperwork. There are also documents that you signed stating that you were aware of the fact that if we could ne secure a loan for you that you understood you may have to return the vehicle. From the notes, it appears that you did not have to proper down payment required by the lender to complete the loan process. The lenders involved have mailed you letters describing their credit decision and the reasons why they made the decision. If you do not agree, please contact the lenders for greater detail. Lastly, we do not make any money unless we sell a car. We do our best to obtain a customer a loan. It's difficult and the approvals are time sensitive. It was just important that I let you know we tried our best and I'm sorry we were not able to help you. Please consider this and if you decide not to change your review, I understand. I just don't feel it's fair based on the given circumstances. Thanks you and I wish you the best of luck finding what you need. Ed W.

Ed, Of course I knew that there were issues with my credit that were known initially. However Mr. Rasulzad clearly informed me that with his 20 years of experience this would not be a matter. Further the initial downpayment agreement was 2400, which i agreed too. It was Mr. Razulzad whom came back and informed me that the amount had decreased to 1800. Never once was there a mention of you taking the car back because to my knowledge, there were no problemms. You sneakily refused to return the keys to me only after i brought the car in for maintenance on the horn. At that point, NO ONE, offered me an alternative or anything for such a huge inconvenience. I will not change my review. I still believe that that this was very unfair business practice.

Ourisman Volkswagen of Laurel responded

I understand and will reply when your review goes live. Thank you for taking the time to contact me. Without letters like your, I could not make improvements. The downpayment is a requirement by the lender. We are told by the banks if we need additional down. If Joe did not take the time to explain to you that since you did not have your complete downpayment that there would be an issue, then I apologize. Good luck in finding a car to meet your needs. Ed W.

When we helped this customer, it was clearly explained that this would be extremely difficult based on the derogatory credit history. The lender required a large down payment and the customer only had 25% of that required payment. (as admitted in the review) To pass blame on Honda and my dealership because of one’s poor credit history is simply not fair. I’m very disappointed to see this unjust review. Every customer we meet has the opportunity to use our lenders. More importantly, they can use any bank or credit union of their choice and are not required to use what we have available. If our lender does not give you a satisfactory approval or the lowest interest rate, simply bring an approval or check from your lender. This consumer was given that opportunity. Ed W.

I personally reviewed this complaint and would like to offer the following information: We diligently tried to secure a vehicle for this customer. This is a rare and very high demand vehicle. The first dealership in VA sold the car to a customer instead of us and the dealership in PA did the same. I do not blame the other dealerships for that, our customers would come first too. We did factory order a car and we contacted the customer for several weeks. The customer that wrote this review explained that they were traveling and unavailable...fair enough, but we could not reach them. We offered to sell our in stock model but they did not like the options. I personally offered to work with him as the General Manager and the customer has not contacted me. There is not any dishonesty here. My VW dealership constantly meets it's objectives and we say we will do our best, we do not "promise" things beyond our control. I'm very sorry that we could not satisfy this customer but contrary to his complaint, my team worked hard, very hard. I don't feel he has been fair or shared all of the facts. Ed W.

Once again a typical Ourisman response. I did exchange emails with the GM (Ed W); but I do not understand the comment about personally helping me. I'm still waiting for response to my last email from this gentleman. Till the day we went out on vacation, they kept telling us that no VIN was assigned to my factory order. But suddenly in two weeks they had the car at the dealership and wanted to sell it quickly. They tried to contact us over the phone despite knowing that we would be away. No emails were sent to this effect at all. We never declined the factory ordered car. Just like the other dealers, this dealership sold the factory ordered car to under us; probably for more money than they had agreed to sell it to us. As they claim, they put their customers first; but I guess your order of priority changes depending in how much you are willing to pay for the vehicle. All I can deduce from the whole experience at this dealership is that, they tried real had to sell the car to us on our first visit by offering us a great price. But, once they realized that they could not get the car from other dealerships to meet their monthly or quarterly quota they had no intention of honoring the initial price offer. They kept us in dark about the whole factory order process and did not even had the courtesy leave us a voice message even after they sold the car to someone else. All along, we kept thinking that we had a new car for us and had stopped shopping. But, little did we know... I don't expect anything from this dealership. I'm so disgusted with my experience that my only goal is to educate other potential customer about the high pressure sales tactics employed at this dealership and the fact that they just don't care about keeping their promises. I agree that they diligently tried...not to keep their initial price promise!!
