This was my first visit to Park Avenue Acura for service and to be honest I was really impressed with the waiting area and the friendliness of all the employess that I met, specially Frank Balido. I bought an MDX for my wife, and the service was so awesome I decided to go back and buy a TSX for myself. If you bring your car for service, you can get a current year loaner. If I was just rating my dealings with Nick, it would have been all 5's, but I had to go with at least one 4 because I could have done without the dire warnings from the finance manager about the price of the been all 5's, but I had to go with at least one 4 because I could have done without the dire warnings from the finance manager about the price of the RDX turbo engine and need for a $2000 extended warranty. One reason I only look for Japanese cars is because of their reliability, so why should I need an extended warranty? I got one through AAA for my Maxima and it covered nothing that went wrong after 3 years. If the engine goes after 4 years than I’ll blame Honda for making an inferior engine, not myself for not getting the extended warranty. So I have no complaints about my dealings with Nick. He was always responsive to my inquiries (usually via email). I should say that I had good dealings with Open Road Acura and DCH Acura as well. Ramsey, not so much. Open Road wasn't very aggressive at competing with its competitors but that's ok. DCH was very aggressive and gave what I feel was a pretty low price w/o having evaluated my trade in. Ramsey was a complete waste of a trip. The imbecile I dealt with knew through earlier online communications that I had visited the other dealerships and when I got there he said, “I’m not going to get into a pissing match with my competitors!” among other things. DCH’s offer was not in writing at first and when I approached Nick about it, he said he would match the price plus my earlier trade in evaluation for the Maxima. I went to DCH and they evaluated the trade in at $500 less so that made my decision easy. I was done haggling at that point. I wanted to get it from Park Ave from the start anyway. Overall, the RDX has been great after about 3 months. The only day of work I missed was on 12/27 after the blizzard. I made it in at some point every other day. Really, it can probably drive through just about any kind of snow. Even when you slide on ice, it seems under control more so than my Maxima ever did. It also brakes within a reasonable distance when such situations occur. Slipping and sliding on Route 3 on New Year’s Eve 2009 is what convinced me I needed a new AWD vehicle. SH-AWD is great and I don’t think I’ll own a FWD car again. Gas mileage could be better but I knew that was an issue when I bought it. The radio display is disappointing as most song titles get cut off. More
