Tim Sechrest and Anker Javia to the rescue! I originally went to McDavid Acura to purchase a specific vehicle. Since we were also dealing with a service issue on our potential trade-in, it took a few days to sort things out. In the end, it appeared we were just too far apart to get a deal done. That's when Tim Sechrest got General Manager Anker Javia involved. Without the diligent effort and commitment by both gentlemen, the sale would not have happened. Once a verbal agreement was reached by phone, I returned to the dealership. From the Salesman Tim Sechrest to the General Manager Anker Javia to the Manager in Finance Matt Oravetz, the buying process was simple, professional and surprisingly painless. A final word about the individuals involved with my transaction. Mr. Javia not only made several phone calls in an attempt to earn my business, he met with me and my salesman to personally thank me for giving his dealership another chance. Also Tim Sechrest was a pleasure to work with. He was extremely knowledgeable about the vehicle I was buying, but more importantly worked diligently to get a deal done. Again, a big thank you to the entire staff at David McDavid Acura for the great car buying experience. I will be back! More

Utterly no consideration of customer's well being I tried to schedule a service appointment early this morning and I mentioned that I am sick and need to go see my doctor after the appointment therefo I tried to schedule a service appointment early this morning and I mentioned that I am sick and need to go see my doctor after the appointment therefore I need a loner vehicle and besides, I would think they don't want me to sit in the waiting area and cough up a storm. However, apparently it was more important for them to stick to their rule of no loaner vehicle unless you are going in to make some big maintenance job. Worse still, not only was the appointment lady not helpful, the service advisor I spoke to was even more rude! I just moved to Texas, the previous Acura dealership I went to was much nicer and never gave me any issue with loaner vehicle. A friend of mine also told me that at the Lexus dealership here in Plano, loaner vehicle is always automatic, As much as I like the Acura vehicle, if I have to put up with this dealership over such lack of customer service, I am definitely going to consider going to a different place to have my Acura serviced. In addition, it is almost time for me to replace my Acura, I am starting to think that maybe I ought to consider a different luxury brand, because while buying a car might be a one time experience, maintaining a car goes on for years, so I want to go to a luxury dealership where they treat their customers well each time they come in for a service. Mark was absolutely excellent in explaining everything & making sure we felt comfortable from the beginning & throughout. When we initially came in we told him we were going out of town for a few days & he was never pushy. He promised he would call us upon our return & did just that. This is the first time ever I did not feel pressured by a car salesman. He honestly didn't even feel like a car salesman because Mark was not trying to sell us anything we did not want or need & he never rushed us to make any decision. As soon as I pulled up to the parking lot, he approached us with everything ready for a test drive. Down to earth person and as nice as a person I have ever met before. There was absolutely no haggle back and forth on the price. I gave him the price that I believe is reasonable and somehow he worked it out with the upper management. Deal were completed all in about 2 hrs. I'd been to several dealerships and test drive many cars. I'm so glad that I came here. Thank you for a smooth and painless transaction. More

Charged $17.95 for Hazardous Waste Disposal on Airbag issue We bought our family's first Acura in 1988 from David McDavid in Plano and have been loyal customers. I brought my mother's latest Acura in last spring for the air bag recall which they knocked out in an afternoon. Last month her airbag/SRS warning light came on. I scheduled an appointment and was promised a loaner car. It took close to an hour to check in with the service advisor, another hour for a base model Ford Focus from Enterprise Rental Car to be delivered, and an hour for them to find her car which was not washed or vacuumed at pickup, It took two days for a tech to even run a diagnosis and tell us everything not covered by the airbag recall needed to replaced to the tune of $1800. I was going to buy my Mom another new Acura for Christmas and decided to wait on the repairs, but after noticing an erroneous charge of $17.95 for a "hazardous waste disposal fee" was charged, the promised $159 diagnostic fee "magically" jumped to $169, and the service advisor whose name doesn't match his voice mail message won't call me back to explain the charges, I will be taking my business elsewhere. My wife uses Sewell Infiniti and I have never had a problem. I think David McDavid has a management/leadership problem. The only saving grace during my experience was the parts manager giving us a free battery for the keyless entry and the young lady in braces, apologizing repeatedly for the wait and absence of the service advisor to explain the erroneous charges. The first was to take care of a recall on a defective airbag and the second was to replace a defective battery under warranty. I must commend David McDavid Acura of Plano. The replacements were both handled promptly with professionalism. Your staff is well trained and really knows what customer service is. My experience has exceeded my expectations. She check my car in and gave me an estimated time of completion. She went above expectations. She follow up 2 additional times letting me know the status of my car. I would expect that this employee being in a management position in the future with the appropriate training. Thank you very much for my service. Acura Recall center department needs to be addressed. I left numerous messages for a call back but no calls were ever returned over a two month duration. So i just drove to the Plano location and addressed the issue my self in person.
